I know that this might sound wierd, but every know and then my dog with randomly start having a dream and will wag her tail as she is asleep on the floor or in her bed. Do your animals ever do this? I must admit it is quite cute! I wonder what they dream about.....

My dog dreams that he is running...all four of his little paws flap. He also dreams that he is nursing...his mouth does sucking motions. Sometimes he has nightmares...he wimpers and cries. And yes, he wags his tail too.

LOL. No, it doesn't sound weird at all. My dog will do the same thing sometimes. One time she was sound asleep and her tail was wagging so hard against the floor, that I was surprised she didn't wake herself up.

I haven't see her do it for a long time, but often, I do hear her make little squeaking noises in her sleep. When I look over to watch her, I can see her eyelids lids moving and her lip of moves up and down with every little noise. It is pretty funny to watch. I guess she's having a happy dream like your dog is, too :-)

No it doesn't sound weird, not to me anyway. We have had dogs that wagged their tails while sleeping, growled once or twice while sleeping, and one that even barked & whined while sleeping. And like you I have always wondered what they might be dreaming about.

Yes, my dogs dream all the time. Sometimes my husband and I will carefully place a piece of food in front of my dog's nose while he's dreaming and the dog will start to chew in his sleep. I never get tired of playing that joke!

It is cute =)

Both of mine whine a little in their sleep sometimes. A couple of times I watched my Pit Bull moving her feet and wagging her tail like she was running around playing in her sleep.

My lab puppy (9 wks old) whines some and makes sucking noises like he's nursing. I guess it's a comfort thing for him.

My puppy (5 month old Bichonpoo) wags her tail and even sometimes looks like she is smiling in her sleep. She is so cute. She will make little noises too.

My dog dreams all the time. She jerks(as if chasing something[poor lion her fav. toy]), she yeps and barks(especially if she was having a bad day)although most of the time she is probably going after something,oh and she also growls, and i can see her eyes moving(or in our sleep the REM part), she is really active in her sleep.

yes I had a miniature dachshund that when he was sleeping (that is when he wasn't loudly snoring) he would move his legs and yip and at times flat out bark in his sleep. My mother always said that he was chasing squirrels (we had some that made fun of him I think).
