My poodle that is 12 weeks old is coughing weird. I’m not sure if it’s a cough, he is sick or he is trying to vomit, but he sounds like a cat that is about to get their hair out of their mouth. However, when that happens, nothing comes out, he just opens his mouth. He also have semi watery stool. He sleeps a lot and he is also very energetic (but not strong), so he doesn’t look sick… Please help!

I am sorry, but I would not take the chance the rest are telling you. They give shots for Kennel Cough for a reason, get him to the vet now, it will be cheaper than waiting for him to get really sick!!

Has he had his shots if not take him to the vet ASAP because he could have parvo or distemper (it really shouldnt wait until tuesday if thats the case because it could be too late by then) If he is current has he had a bordetella vaccine for kennel cough. and has he been to the groomers or boarded anywhere. If he has then it is probably kennel cough (unless vaccinated) and it is like the dog flu. It is highly contagious and if in a kennel or grooming facility can spread quickly. Hopefully this helps, but you should really call a vet to make sure it isnt something major.

sounds like kennel cough. Usually it will clear up on its own or with some help from a cough tab. You really need to get your puppy into the vet anyway to have it looked over and vaccinated and dewormed

My little toy breed dog does the same thing. The vet checked it out and said it was nothing to worry about, apparently he's just got a sensitive throat.

I'd be a little worried about it in combination with the lethargy and diarrhea. Is your regular vet open tomorrow? I think it would be a good idea to have him looked at, just in case.

Hope he feels better soon.

I would take him to the vet..could be kennel cough. It is soread through close contact with others dogs, like when they are boarded together. I think there is a vacination for this.

You need to get your pup to the vet ASAP. Sounds like he has Kennel Cough. But the watery stool is another issue. Is he getting his shots? Please get him to the vet.
