I have 4 Bettas in a 10 gallon tank with dividers, and they always get pissed off when they look at each other. I think it's because they're finally happy because I put the heater in there, but I think by being too active and pissed off, they might get stressed out and die really fast. So I was thinking of putting plants and rocks between the dividers so they won't see each other that much anymore. So is that a good idea and what do you think I should do otherwise?

You need to put opaque dividers between each section of the tank, they are wasting a lot of energy displaying. The good part is that you have them warm enough to display. Let them see each other once every couple of days, for a few minutes - that keeps them healthy and active, but does not over-stress them. The warmer temperatures, plus seeing another male occasionally will perk them up, and they all should be building bubble nests. Don't worry about them "wasting energy" building the nests, they really enjoy doing it.
Oddly enough, if they DID actually contact each other, there is a kind of chivalry involved. They NEVER attack each other when one of them is going up to the surface to get a bubble of fresh air. And, if one gives up the fight and swims away, the other generally just lets him go without further harm.
Regardless, the "vanquished" should be gently removed, as it is very stressful for it to remain anywhere it can see or be seen by the victor. I am assuming that they got into physical contact by ACCIDENT.
Since there is NO really good reason to let them fight, DON'T DO IT. In the "wild" the fighting has a good reason, namely ensuring the strongest are left to mate.
In tanks, it is only cruel and frankly rather heartless. Displaying, or "Showing Off" occasionally, through the glass, to another male that they can see in a different "section" of the tank is OK, just don't let them do it often or for very long. It takes a lot of energy and WILL shorten their life if you let them do it often or for long periods of time.

I think that the plant dividers is a great ideal for a new reasons. The main reason is that they don't see each other and don't stress each other out. The other reason is that plants also create fun little hiding spaces for your betta.
those kinds of fish LOVE to hide so the plants are good to have in the tank. It in general creates less stress. If you decide to get live plants, however, you should make sure to do frequent water changes because decaying plant and other organic matter creates high nitrites and nitrates which will slowly poison your fish.
On another note, you should put some kind of opaque plastic inbetween the tank too, since if your betta is hiding in the leaves, he will still be able to see your other fish.
If you have 3 females, the shouldnt be that active. It sounds to me like your have a mixture of males and females, or all males. They are VERY agressive fish, which you seem to already know. So just plants will not really do the trick.
You can either get the opaque plastic sheets to replace your tank dividers, or you can get some kind of plastic cling sticker that will stick to your dividers that are already there.
hope this helps.

That would help. As you probably all ready know, male Bettas will fight each other to the death. I have two with a divider down the middle and they don't even look at each other anymore. In the far east they raise Bettas just to fight each other.

i grow to be in petco the different day and all of their "tanks" designed in simple terms for bettas are thoroughly incorrect. They sell those tiny "betta bowls" and those fashion designer tanks that don't actually have a lid. in addition they have this element the place you may make all of it somewhat with rocks and lighting fixtures and interior the top you may in simple terms rigidity your betta out and kill it. No ask your self anybody is so stupid. while they see those betta products they're going to think of "oh, this grow to be made for a betta, it truly is going to likely be the suited element" yet its no longer. It sickens me to think of of the limitless bettas that leap from their fashion designer tanks and die or are left in tiny little bowls. human beings, for the main section, purchase bettas simply by fact they are somewhat. besides the undeniable fact that unhappy, unhappy, chilly bettas are actually not somewhat. If a betta is in a huge heat tank his hues would be 1000 situations prettier and he would be lots greater energetic and unique to video demonstrate.

Are they male betta? If they are flaring up they are either seeing their own reflection (or..obviously the other betta). You should prevent them from having constant contact with one another or put them into seperate tanks if you must. Too much of that aggressive behavior can reallly stress them out

Male betas will always fight each other. That's why they're called Siamese Fighting Fish.
Good idea to use rocks and plants to avoid their sight of each other.

you could put plants and rocks in but i would seriously suggest just getting four little tanks/bowls. they really are independant fish and live much longer and happier when they are alone and can't see other fish. =)
