Well what do you want her to do? Hold it in for hours on end until you're home to let her out of the cage?
She doesn't know the difference between a bed and a potty area, she will go where it is clean.
I suggest get a few baby gates and block some rooms. Where does she usually go potty? If it's outside, install a doggy flap so she has free access to the yard to go potty. At 13 months, she should know where to go potty.
EDIT: You can also get a play pen for them and they can either go in or outside. They usually have a roof on them so she can't jump out of it. She will have much more space, space to play, to sleep etc. You can also buy *not sure of the name* something that you can put inside and she can go potty on that. It's green and it's just like real grass. She goes potty on it, the waste and urine goes down the little holes in the plastic and it all comes out in a tray. I'm not sure if they have it out in US yet but it's fairly new so it may cost a fair bit. Just go to a pet shop and ask them, they might have an idea.

Im not really sure of the situation but it seems like she knows there is no one around to yell at her and she is in her cage an awful long time for a young animal. My advice would be to see if anyone could come over and take her out maybe at least one time while your at work. If that is not possible I would keep her in the bigger cage and put a puppy pad in there and train her to go on her puppy pad. That way when you come home there wont be poop smeared everywhere and it will be a lot easier to clean up, instead of a giant mess when you come home. I hope this answer helps! I used to have house breaking problems with my yorkie as well. So I can understand what you are going through. Best of luck to you and your pup!

If you are leaving your dog more than 11 hours during the day that is the problem. You said you feed your dog before going to work, how much time do you give him between him eating and you leaving? if you are not giving him at least 30 mins he might be going outside just to urinate but not to poop. Try this for example if you leave your home by 6:30 try to let him out first for about 5 mins (to pee) around 5:30 than have him come back in to feed give him about 20 mins before you let him go back outside, leave him outside for about 10 mins than cage him. I think that would work. Also make sure you follow a routine for him that is the best way to raise dogs. I hope that helps him and you.

Because the sensatoin of needing to pee are partially produced by enzymes. The enzymes are not produced as mauch when sleeping to allow for better sleep!
Okay your dog may be anxoius when you are gone. If you work 8n hours tha tris too long to expect your dog to go without peeing. You have to start counting the time from th emintue you put her in the cage till you get home to let her out. Most likely she is in the cage a fair bit longer than you expect her to go at night with out bathroom.
Use the bigger cage. Put her a bed in one corner and pee papers in the other. And in anhter corner put her a little food and water. When you get home it she has messed or wet in the cage say nothing just clean it out. If it is on the papers you can do this very easily. Just roll the paper up and take it out. Done that quick! If th epee soaked through the paper to the cage floor just a quick wipe with a rag. We are just talking about a little pee and poop, not radioactive waste. Try not to get all bunged up about it.
she is sitll very young as she gets older she will try much harder to keep poo off herself! Being a baby she is just learning. If you get upset when you get in and she has messed a cage or herself you are just going to make her more anxious and the problem will get worse.
I have 12 dgos most are small. I had a flat steel pan fabricated for me about 3 feet square. I put a water proof crib pad in the pan. My dgos pee on the crib pad. I put a cleanone down about twice a day. I keep rubber gloves for cleaning up dog mess of any kind. Come to think of it I use them for grand kids messes too. Rubber gloves so I am not appauled at what I am sticking my hands in. LOL
Be gentle an figure out ways to make it easier on you and the dog both. Be gentle and kind and loving. Your dog will improve as she natures.

That is a protest action, she doesn't like to be alone and she surly hates the cage.
she is young and like a baby , but you should know that she hates the smell of her own pee, and her nature tells her to pee outside, perhaps you live her to long alone, or you don't go out with her before you live , she can hold, but she chooses not tow, you should show her that you don't like that , and ignore her for a while she will understand that it is not a good method to keep you home, and more that you don't like her action.
and remove the cages. nobody wants to be in cage even not the dogs. that is her way of telling you she misses you , and the time for them is much longer then for us.

I think she is doing it because she is upset at being home alone.
Maybe you could get another dog so she wouldnt be so lonely during the day
