My kitty cat is retarded! She is constantly chewing on pieces of plastic, netting, paper, anything she can find! I try to keep stuff away from her that she might eat, but she keeps barfing all over my carpet every day and when I go to clean it up I always see bits of non-food objects in it....how can I get her to stop!?!? She is well fed, so it's not like she's hungry.

Family pet taken to vet hospital after suffering smoke inhalation and minor burns. Owner is blind and on limited income and had no Rider on insurance for the pet. Costs may run upwards of $1000.00. Local organizations require the owner to abandon the pet before any help can be given and they will not be allowed to adopt her back. The pet has not been abused, neglected or abandoned by the owner, just a tragic accidental fire caused by a clothes dryer. Does anyone know of an organization who can help with the medical bills for the cat?

My dog is a 2 year old Rat Terrier who was bought from a pet store. He has always been anxious around people, but now that I've moved to the Bronx I notice it even more. I can't walk down a street with people on it without him pulling until he can't breath. He has been through a training program and listens very well, but when people are around all of his training is lost. He can't over come his anxiety. He also has some OCD issues. I've thought of medicating him, but I'm not sure if that is the way to go. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before.

I have a 4 month old Chessapeake Bay Retriever- he's doing awsome with the potty training... however, every time we put him in our fenced in back yard- he digs... and digs and digs.... he's torn up most of my rose bushes, he's dug in my fiance's horse shoe pits... he's dug up our outside lights... How in the world do we keep him from digging? We've tried the spray "no dig" stuff they sell at PetsMart and it doesn't work... any suggestions?! Thanks!

My dog is fearful and someone suggested I contact a pet communicator. Said they can talk to my dog on the phone. There are two here in Florida. What do you think?

I came home from working the 3rd shift around 7:20 this morning and a couple hours later I noticed he must have gotten into chocolate around 7 am between when the last person in the house left for work and I got home. they were cocoa truffles... I brought him into the Vet within about 3-4 hours and she thinks he will be fine.. They hooked him up to IV, gave him charcoal and said he vomited a lot up...he's staying at least overnight and she's optimistic I can take him home tomorrow at noon.. Hes a 56 lb beagle with no past health issues

He also vomited within an hour of eating it on his own about 6-7 times...The vet said that was good...

After showing the vet the bag she said it was a serious dose but not lethal (she estimated around 50/70 mg)

Should I be worrying as much as I am? Any expertise out there?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholer, but we all have our reasoning for thinking something is gorgeous. I'd like to know the reasons behind the attractions to cats and dogs that look like they've run into one too many walls face first.
I'm NOT insulting the breeds, but I do wonder, sparked by my friend claiming her dog *that I find absolutely GORGEOUS* is ugly, and that her purebred dog *Lhasa apso, she says, but the dog's appearance says otherwise* course-curly-coated blonde flatfaced dog is prettier than this long legged mutt with a short yet plush *think teddy-bear fur* coat and a nose more than a cm out from her forehead.*these dogs are half siblings, btw* I don't see it and I couldn't get her to tell me why the dog I thought was pretty was bellow the level of this short legged beast with a horrible underbite that makes her look incredibly mean *and yes, she's mean*
I'm not saying anyone's wrong, I just don't get the idea of a dog/cat with a lack of face, really.

I have two Pit Bulls, "Lily" and "Dasy"... Lily is great, she's calm and is a really great dog... But Dasy, is the problem puppy... First of all she destroys everything, so we have to lock her up when we are gone. Then, when i let her out of her kennel, i take both dogs out for a walk for about an hour. Dasy refuses to "go potty", and when i bring her back in, she poops and pees in the house... She also is very jealous and shows a lot of resentment towards Lily... What can i do to make her act better?

I rescued a dog from the side of the road today which could hardly stand up, its legs wanting to give out from under her. Didn't appear to have been hit, but was emaciated and seemed dehydrated. She was so weak I had to hold her so she would not spill out of the van's captain's chair. The Humane society didn't have room so I brought her home. Couldn't jump out so I carried her down to the ground where she managed to stand up. Drank so much water at dog bowl on the way in, then drank again at water bowl inside. When I was refilling that she had gone down the hall and was drinking out the half bathroom toilet again! Was disoriented and finally fell into a quilt I put on the floor. Slept for 3 hours so I was letting her get the rest. She didn't want food or didn't have the energy to eat, but also even after all the drinking the inside of her mouth was very dry. Found her with no collar, flea-ridden, face scratched like cats or dogs had gone at her. Vet is checking her now.

Is it okay to keep a feeder rat/mouse as a pet? the rats and mice that i have seen there, which will grow up to be snake food, are actually treated strangely well. they have hides, tubes and wheel. i doubt that they are socialized but im pretty sure they would be tamable. so, is it okay to keep a feeder rat as a pet?

also, what gallon measure aquarium would be appropriate for two rats?

that dogs had the "smarts" to pick their human. What traits do you think they would look for? Based on that, do you think YOU would get picked?

(Momentarily forget the fact that if dogs were that smart they wouldn't need us.)

I saw it on good morning america a few years ago. It was new to the united states and costs around $200.00. It's not a bangal or an ocelot. something different.

I think mine are pretty darn spoiled...clean water, weekly gravel vacuums, food 2 x day, treats like blood worms & brine shrimp, no predation, lots of rocks/plants/hiding place, able to reproduce with a high survival rate. It's a fishy heaven!

On the other hand...I wonder if they would prefer (if they could prefer) living in Lake Tanganiyka...or wherever they are originally from.

Or am I just weird for thinking up these kinds of things? :o)

Your thoughts?

It's true because a dogs digestive tract is much smaller than a humans so a dogs exrement has much more undigested food and nutrition left to it then a humans. So if your going to have to eat poop its actually better for you to eat dog poop then human poop wouldn't you think that to be the opposite but its true

She's been inside for a few weeks now, but she's overly submissive and is very hard to live with. I'm very good to her... she just has a very destructive behavior in my home and with herself. She constantly chews (even though she doesn't have fleas anymore) and has bald spots.
