that dogs had the "smarts" to pick their human. What traits do you think they would look for? Based on that, do you think YOU would get picked?

(Momentarily forget the fact that if dogs were that smart they wouldn't need us.)

Sorry MJ, maybe I should have phrased it something like "Forget the fact that we domesticated dogs therefor forcing them to rely on us"

They DON'T need us. Most dogs would survive perfectly fine if they lived in the wild (as long as my Whippets were somewhere WARM!)

There are different kinds of intelligence. Can YOU read body language as well as a dog? Can YOU tell some ones health and social status by sniffing their butt? LOL!

Cute idea! Well, going off of my dog now, I think my Newfoundland Henry would pick someone who
- made him special dinners of rice and chicken (with broth!) each night and was allowed to eat it in the dining room with the family
- Someone who didn't make him walk with a leash (sorry he is just too feisty!)

- Someone who would provide him with an endless supply of squirrels to hunt down every day

- We call Henry our little Velcro dog because he is always attached to us, so someone who would take him absolutely everywhere would probably get picked!

All in all, I think he would still pick us! We have no kids and he is our baby! He's pretty spoiled but what can you do!

This is a cute question. It would depend on the breed. little terriers and Golden retrievers would be looking for the energetic 12 year old and Bulldogs and Saint Bernards would be looking for calmer people. I think I would get chosen by a...Siberian Husky or a boxer

A loving, patient person who would spoil them rotten, let them sleep in their bed, make sure that their food and water bowl is never empty, let them out (and in!) whenever they wanted, take them for rides in the big motorized vehicle (making sure to crack the window so they can stick their heads out), buy nice toys for them (taking the time to play with them as well) and rub their bellies and pet them and cuddle with them whenever that was wanted too!

And since I do ALL that I listed above, hell yea, they would pick me!!!
