We just had a litter of basset hound puppies born and a few of them have like these little moles under their chin. They were born with them. I'm sure you've seen these bumps on older dogs. They have whiskers growing out of them. I really don't know what they are called, but moles was the only name that came to mind. Just wondering if this is something to be concerned about or not.

I have a black lab/shepherd/boxer/cattle dog mix (I know- crazy but this is what they told me when I adopted her, and she does look a little like each of those, but mostly lab). She is almost 8. I've heard her referred to as a senior. I don't think of her that way at all. We walk/run for almost an hour daily so I would say she's in pretty good shape, after losing several pounds (she got a bit tubby there for awhile). She definitely seems more prone to injuries/soreness than she used to, but I think of her as a young thing still because she loves to play like a puppy. Can you tell me what you think the lifespan of a dog of this type would be?

In south GA there were some men who roasted a PUPPY in an oven for fun!!!!! that is soo cruel. Supposedly the puppy's nails were all bloody and stubby from trying to scratch out the oven. This was like a game to them. Why would someone do this. the puppy did not do anything!

she keeps acting funny. shes shaking and acts like she`s about ready to collapse. she`ll be trying to walk but will be sliding on the tile. shes never done this before and im worried. im not sure if its cause she`s overweight or if its cause she`s old. she wont lie down either, she sits up and falls over and then trys to sit up again, and keeps doing that. but she`s still eating and drinking. any one know whats happening to her???

I have 2 cats who are not declawed, the building i live in is giving me trouble about this, so i have decided to move. However every apartment building in my town is making this a requirement. If my cats were kittens, then i would have them declawed, however they are 4 year and 10 years old so i know that it is not a good idea to have them declawed. The managers that i have talked to don't care that its not safe and i even offered to get soft claws for my cats, is there anyway i can fight this rule?

About a year ago my kitten at the time fell about 7 feet. She didnt land on her feet. I cant remember how she landed but after she fell she spun around in a circle on her side and started twiching. Then she just layed in the same spot for an hour and I knew something was wrong. I took her to the vet and he said she didnt have any broken bones and didn't appear to be in pain. Basically she was paralysed for about a month. I had to hand feed her, give her shots, and give her medicine. Soon she was able to walk again and now she seems alright. She just walks funny like crooked and sometimes she falls over. It seems to be one side of her body that doesnt function right at times. She seems to do good for a while. But when she falls over and hits her head on something it seems like it makes her act funny again. I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of something like this and what it could be? Thanks!

I don't think it's a cold! It's just the sneezing! No eye or nose discharge! Could it be because of the anesthesia??? And she eats fine!!

I purchased a Thoroughbred this past summer, when I looked at him he was in somewhat thin condition but not bad, about a month later I decided I wanted the horse but was unable to pick him up right away because of some legal matter from previous owner, had to wait for the horse to be free and clear, when I finally was able to puchase my horse he had drop a lot of weight and was extremely thin and all cut up and bite mark, Immediately had him worked and put on a feed program, the previous owner said she no longer hassd the fund to puchase feed for him, so he went without for several, several weeks, nevertheless, he received cripped oats, low sugar sweet feed, AM and PM good hay both Alfalfa and good grass hay, plus some carrots and apples, starting putting on the pounds right now he look great, but sorry my ??? whenever his hay and feed is eaten he will start to eat his own manure, he does this all the time, is he missing something, is it a nasty habit, he is not going un-fed as before

The phone number to Bossier City Animal Control, where the Pit Bull puppy is being quarantined, is 318-741-8499. This puppy should not have to take the blame for this tragic incident. People in general give the Pit Bull breed a bad rep!

I will be getting a cat from our local shelter in a few months, and it will be an inside cat. Is it difficult to keep a cat inside all the time? I dont want the cat outside for safety reasons. He or she will be fixed. Is it better to get a kitten vs a older cat as far as keeping them inside? Any tips or info would be great. I also have a toddler who I have to make sure doesnt leave the door open:)

They could care less about the tree ... the ornaments are fun for them so we keep the breakable ones near the top. What they really like is the water. We have tried assorted deterrents -- aluminum foil around the stand, tape with the sticky side up, etc. Is there something to put in the water that the cats will hate, but won't make them (or the tree) sick?

I have a 5 year old female cat but I plan to get a new kitten. How do cats usually react to a new addition? And would there be a difference to her getting along better with another female or a male kitten?

What begging technique works best when your cat does it- the stare or the constant meow? One of mine does the stare and it works better on me than anything! It's just kind of creepy.
