Your pups will be fine! Some dogs do have moles, and like humans, they can be born with them, as well.
What you are noticing is the enlarged follicle where a whisker will grow. Yes, it looks like a mole, and it is harmless.
If they continue to grow larger, however, you should take the pups to a vet because they could be a type of tumor. Just watch them for growth.

Yes. My Full Blooded St. Bernard has a mole under his chin & it does have hair growing out of it also. It's kinda like blue spots located underneith the dogs fur, most of the time a full blooded dog will have a mole type thing like this somewhere on their body!

Bassets & Beagle are two of the most popular breeds to have these kind of growths. Not to be too concerned, just as one person already answered, watch that it dosen't grow. If it starts to get bigger - go to your vet. Also important to remember that a dog should see a vet at least once a year. if you do this your vet could document & watch these growths to ease your mind.
Basset are beautiful dogs and need lots of attention. They do develop lots of growths through out their lives - around the eyes is the most common place.

Hi Gin!!
First and important, Please have her checked with a vet...any mole, lump, bump, lesion or scar should be noted by a regular attending vet. Any concerns you have can be easily addressed at regular well being visits.
Puppie's of all breed's get mole's and lump's...most are harmless..your dog is bothered by them so she should see her vet. Secondary infections can occur from scratching them open. Also it is always wise to know what is causing the moles too.

I think your puppies will be fine. My older dog has moles on her chin but I think she has had them since she was a puppy. I have seen many pictures of newborn pups and many have moles. Since so many dogs have them, there is probably no reason to worry.

Yes, this is not uncommon. Actually, I have 4 dogs and they all have them. If you continue to be concerned, or notice any changes is size, shape or color, I'd have your vet examine them. When you take the puppies in for the first vet visit, you might just mention it to him/her, just to ease your mind.
Good luck finding great forever homes for your litter!

specific, he will must be teething at that age. supply him extra complicated concerns like Nylabones to chew on, spray bitter apple (designed to deter doggies) on the footwear, and compliment him for shewing the diverse toys. If his gums harm, placed hiss teething toys in the freezer so as that they are in a position to be soothing whilst he chews on them.
