We just got a new dog about 10 tens ago. The older dog, Max, keeps barking and growling at the new dog. The new dog barks and jumps like it wants to play with Max. Then Max then just runs upstairs or downstairs and hides. What should I do to help them get along?

She has a habit of coming over to us looking at us, and then burping right at us. Is there a way we can train her to go burp somewhere else. I don't mind the noise, but the smell of a dog burp is quite foul.

My 4 year old sheltie charlie almost died today, I was in the christmas perade today, and i was coming home and my charlie was at my neighbour's house, with my dad. he is usually very skitish of my dad, but when i'm gone there friends. anyways, when my mom slowed to see him, charlie ran from the door, around the house and on to the road, a suv was coming, and the roads were very slippery, there was a snow storm last night. mine and my mom's hears just stopped for like 3 seconds, the suv slid sideways and just missed him. when i got out of the car i was almost crying and i couldn't feel my legs, i gave him a huge hug and i was happy he was alive! it totaly changed my perception of him, i went outside with him for an hour and made an igloo for him. i can't stop thinking that he almost died. any ideas? thanks.

My cousin's cat went through a massive and rapid growth spurt at 1 year and 3 months old. it was kind of shocking and i would like to know how long these cats continue to grow for. thanks!

I have a 11 month old Oriental Long Hair cat named Toby. Sometimes, if he runs outside, or if he breaks something, I put him in the closet for about 20 minutes. Does the cat understand he is being punished or is he unaware of the connection between being in trouble and the closet?

Cat's Prayer

I hope I'm not asking too much, Lord, All I want is a home of my own, And to know when my next meal is coming Instead of the scraps I get thrown.

I've been out in the cold for so long now, Coping as best as I can, But it's not so long I've forgotten The touch of a soft caring hand.

I look in house windows at Christmas, As cats doze by the fire, quite replete - How I'd welcome a box in the kitchen, And tasty food for me to eat.

For me there was tinsel and giftwrap, But the fun didn't last very long - They put me out with the rubbish; I don't know what I did wrong.

I really don't want to be greedy, At the moment I'm all skin and bone, So would it be too much to hope for, That someone will give me a home?

My cat is 5 years old and has been, (for the past few months), pissing on shoes, garbage cans, Christmas tree skirts, Christmas tree branches, chairs, ETC. My question is why does he kepp doing this when I punish him and put in a pen for a few days and he gets out and does it again! Why does he repeatedly keep doing this!?

I am thinking about getting a real Christmas tree this year... but we have a 7 mo. old kitten who chews everything... including houseplants! Does anyone out there know if pine trees (specifically Douglas Fir, Scotch Pine and White Pine) are toxic/poisonous to cats?? Thanks!

Kitty is bored and very over-weight and desperately needs a little activity. He can't get too physical or he'll have an asthma attack, but he still needs a little bit of exercise and enrichment.

I've tried a few things already, like the ball feeder and hiding dry food around, but without success.
His hobbies are sleep, food, and getting brushed. ☺

I really need some helpful suggestions or tricks. Thanks. ♥

she has knots and tangles all over her hind legs area. I brush her about once a week and she hates to be brushed. I am not sure what to do, she is very feisty and will hiss and scratch at the brush now. I am very gentle, but she does not want to be groomed at all. I give her a bit of cat nip to relax her. I am thinking of getting her groomed with a "lion cut". But my main question is - why all the knots now when she has never had them before?

There is a snake in my back yard he is about 4 feet and he is black. Last year we found part of a rat and recently i have been noticing snake skins. What should i do. Also i live in new york and i want to know what to do because many lil kids live in the area. Oh yeah could it be poisunious. I dont want to take it out of its habitat. But,is that the best thing to do?? Please help me with any information you can. Also what could happen if it bit a child would the blame be placed to me for not saying something.
