Why does my dog burp at me?

She has a habit of coming over to us looking at us, and then burping right at us. Is there a way we can train her to go burp somewhere else. I don't mind the noise, but the smell of a dog burp is quite foul.

My dog does that, comes over to give kisses and then burps 2 inches from your face. Doggie kibble burps are gross, but I would much rather receive a dog burp in the face than a dog fart.

Is it that she gets excited and pants (taking in air) and when she gets to you it comes out? If so, calm her down as soon as you see each other. Give her a belly rub... they like that usually...

Do you mean doggie food foul or nasty foul? Check out what she is getting into (the garbage?) or change her food.
Maybe she eats too quickly... try to slow her down.

I wouldn't smack her or say no when she burps... it's involuntary for them and she wouldn't understand what she's getting heck for exactly... she may think coming up to you and looking at you is bad... It's like giving them heck for sneezing.
Burp in her face when she does it, maybe that will communicate a message to her.
What kind of dog is she... want to complete my mental image of the situation. (grin) I'm sorry but I laugh when my dog burps.

Quite simple fix. Raise her food bowl so when she eats she is standing not drooping down. This is just gas from eating in an unproper position. Also be sure there is water handy for her as she eats - this allows for better digestion of her food.
