My dog, Max, is very lazy and tired, and when you feel his nose it is pretty warm, but wet. Is he sick? What should I do?

My Pretty 6 years old female dog ran away from home one night to die alone after being sick for an entire afternoon. She was only 6 and no health problems ever. The vet told us she chose to run away cause she felt she was dying and she wanted to spare us from the pain of seeing that. Any of you ever heard of that? Would you agree with his oppinion ? Disagree ?

Thanks a lot. It's been 2 years and i simply can't get over my loss.

I have never bred any egg-layers before (usually i have bred livebearers) but i decided to try this. I have already started and i was just wondering if the female fish's stomach gets big when it gets full of eggs. Or maybe a males stomach gets big for some reason? Any other advice is welcome.

I had my dog for a couple of months, he's 2yrs. He was a present from my bf. He has the classic energetic, fun-loving, yet gentle personaility of the Golden breed. Although, he needs some training. He knows his name ("Hydro") yet when I call him sometimes he comes and sometimes he dosen't. It's really annoying but I'm being patient because eventhough he's a not a puppy he's still young. I don't have money for a trainer and I enjoy training my dog but I need some good suggestions. Also, from books I read about this particular breed it told me that playing games should exercise their mind as well as body because of the inteligence they posess. What are good games I could play with him other than retriving?

Just wondering.

We recently got a bunch of supposedly tropical fish from a breeder. Most of them seem to be some sort of goldfish. Orange with a little black, but a few of them are black with white speckles or red with a few black blotches..

The Dog Whisperer (Nat'l Geo channel) says I have to be the "pack leader" for my dog and eat first, go out the door first, etc. Do others have experience with this and does it really help?

Ever since the snow has come and the weather has dipped below 50 my dogs have been itching like crazy... but I know they dont have fleas. I have looked them over from head to toe with a fine tooth comb and all I can find is a bit of normal dog dandruff. Could they have cold weather/dry skin itch? Ive seen dog washes with oatmeal for this use... anyone have any ideas/experience with this? They are both over 90 pounds so its not an easy task getting routine baths!!

I have a six day old kitten who was abandoned by his mother and has been thusforth raised by me. He has responded well -- Healthy weight, healthy appetite, facilities work well, well hydrated, active and very vocal. Lastnight I went to get a soda, came back and he was suffering from labored breathing, audible congestion in his chest and he's been sneezing up a clear fluid. He breathes through his mouth and still has a healthy appetite (He takes short drinks before stopping to breathe). His facilities still work, and he's still active. I have tried placing *tiny* drops of 4-way nasal decongestant near his nasal passages via a q-tip. Is there anything I can do to help ease his pain and/or ease his congestion?

I have bought several brands of "premium" cat litter for my Purrforma Plus automatic litter box, and every one clings to the rake. It;s more of a hassel to clean the rake than to have a regular litter box! Can anyone tell me if they've found a brand of litter that really works in one of these? THANKS!

We have mice as pets & originally had 1 mouse named Jez (who we think is the father of another mouse with a problem...Blackbum) who would constantly scratch, especially his ears. We came to the conclusion, after talking to pet stores as well reading books & stuff online, that it was an allergy to corn. Jez has passed on & his daughter, 1 of the last of his kids to survive, has been scratching the same as him ... They are the same black & white coloring, however there is also another mouse (Blackbums' sister) that is pure black & does not have any symptoms. Blackbum has scratched her ears so much that she has 1 ear that has a hole right through it & the other is looking like it will start getting a hole soon as well.
Does anybody know what could be causing this & if there is anything that can help it?
Please don't suggest taking it to the vet as we can't afford it at this present time. We are looking for anything that could help.. we hate seeing her suffer like this.
Thanks...
