NO don't use regular clippers you may not know how far to cut the dog clippers have a plate that stops you from going to far and cutting the quik, siccors, %@#$ NO they could really mess a dog up one of my friends tried that and instead of clipping the dogs nails it slipped really fast turned the nail side-ways and the pup moved back and the siccors held on to the nail and it yanked the nail right out of the socket

Regular nail clippers can be used depending on the dog. Scissors absolutely not. Just remember when trimming the nails to go slow...when your trimming close the dog panics since it feels pressure so be patient and slow. Some like using the dremel for they dont feel pressure..this is grinding the nail down and its much easier to shape and get a closer trim but they do cause heat so you need take breaks from one nail to the next.

No you can not use scissors or human nail clippers. You can get dog clipper from Wal Mart or Petsmart or any other pet supermarket for below $10.00 and those are very safe for dogs.

I wouldnt recommend human nail clippers or scissors, as the dogs nails are more curled or arc'ed than ours. I would use doggy nail clippers to be safe. Don't want to traumatize the dog. hehe

I think you should buy the 'Dogs Nailcutter' because the fact is that not many people like cutting dog nails due to the reason that dogs don't usually scratch and also because the nail cutter that we use a too uncomfortable and siccors might be very dangerous for delicate nails.

Its not a good idea, Dogs have veins in there nails if you clip to much off they will bleed, and will be very painful. They have nail clippers for dogs and cats at most pet stores, places like walmart carry them in the pet dept.

You could try but it's a lot easier to buy dog nail trimmers. I have used human nail buffers/files on my dogs nails but have always used a dog nail clipper.

you shouldnt use scissors because they are blunter and harder to handle, you could cut too much. You can use human nail clippers if they are large enough, because they are designed to cut through hard nails. make sure to take it slow!

the best thing would be to go to petsmart or petco and get trimmers made for dogs. depending on the size of your dog you may need large or small trimmers
