She scratches at it, but only scratches her stomach. She licks at it which only results in scruffing up the hair on her back. So far she has not been able to get at it with tongue or claw, otherwise it would have been bitten off! Anyone has experience with this? We will see the vet tomorrow.

backyard. We also have 4 cats. I am an animal lover, and just wonder if I will feel like I have too many animals... we have a six year old daughter who would love a dog.
I haven't had a dog since I was a kid. Should we go for it?

Should I board my toy poodle while I'm on vacation? He's small, easily nervous, and not used to other dogs. Will it be safe for him?

I rescued a 5 or 6 mos. old puppy from an auto garage where he was immaciated. Long story short his physical health is fine now that I have him, it is his behavior that I need advice with. I realize that it will take him time to trust me; he is very lovable but very hardheaded. Any advice.

I'll give him tiny amounts at regular intervals so he can't scarf it all down and get sick and he still pukes. I'm going to throw him out the window if he keeps this crap up.

My little peanut is a handful, as you can see with my other questions. I do love her even though. She has been very dominant since 8 wks old. She doesn't like people and I am constantly trying to socialize her with no luck. Anyway...

My question:

I have bought her many stuffed animal toys. She has torn them all open, so I have to buy the hardest rubber toys from Petco. My question is should I take her toy away when she starts to play with it violently? She will hold it in her mouth and shake her head so hard and growl at it. She acts like she is NUTS!!! Am I encouraging her behavior by letting her keep playing like this?

I would like to know the easiest and quickest way to stunn or kill a mouse right before I give it to my snake. I really don't want blood all over the place and I would like the stunn to me enough so they don't wake up.

my cat decided several times that he wanted to pee in a corner of my kitchen that is wood and tile. i've done my best with regular cleaners. i've tried the pet enzyme odor cleaners, and they don't seem to work. i've also tried baking soda and it doesn't work. this is an apartment and i need my security deposit back. what should i do?

Why do so many people post this myth? If that were true, Americans with our mixed ancestory 'melting pot' of genes should have no cancer, diabetes, arthritis, epilepsy, osteoporosis, etc. & yet we do...and so do mutt dogs!
When I worked for vets, at least it was predictable what health problems a dog may face by breed, and good breeders would screen to eliminate genetic defects from the gene pool. This is the reality: mutts have health problems as much as purebreds - they are just more random & therefore less predictable. That can actually be more of a problem, FYI.
