I believe that hands down it would be the elephant that emerges as victorious. I mainly feel this because of the fact that:
1. The elephant severely outweighs the tiger and is much larger as well.
2. Along with size the elephant is also much stronger than the tiger.
3. An elephant has an extremely thick hide and penetration by tiger claws and teeth would be difficult.
4. When was the last time you saw a pride of lions take down a healthy elephant? I don't think I've ever.
I will give the tiger props for speed and cunning but I really think that in this case size matters. Now if you had say a 'pride' of tigers vs. one elephant I would have to rethink my whole answer.

An Elephant. Have you ever noticed the size different between the two. Also the Elephant has large tusks compared to the tiny teeth a tiger has.

Is this really a question? The elephant could kill a tiger very easily. However a tiger would have to go to extreme lengths just to wound the elephant. The most vulnerable spot on an elephant is the neck which is guarded by huge tusks and the tiger would have to really reach for the jugular. Plus elephants have very tough thick skin making it almost impossible to hunt.

The elephant because the tiger is 1/10 the weight of the elephant and it would win because of their tusks.

The elephant unless the tiger attacks with its pride (pack). I've seen on animal show a group of 3 tigers take down a elephant but, one on one the elephant would win.

the elephant would pick up the tiger with his big long nose, and throw him across the field, and then the tiger would land on all 4's and try to attack again, and the elephant would pick him up and throw him again, and then the tiger would get kind of tired, and he would rest for a bit, and then he would try to attack the elephant again, and the elephant would throw him again, and then the tiger would be like "damn this isnt working" and then he would go get his buddy, and both tigers would try to kick the elephants a$$ together, and then the elephant would call his buddy. and both elephants would throw both tigers. and then they would be like "give it up homie, you can take us, stop wasting everyones time" and the first tiger would be like "man kiss my a$$" and they would both walk away embarassed. and the elephants would be like talkin to each other about how dumb tigers are.

I would say the elephant. They have very thick hides that are hard to penetrate so if a tiger did jump on him, he would lose his grip and then the Elephant would squash him.
