when i take my dog for a walk it takes such along time cause we have to keep stopping at lamp posts & also big piles of poo from other dogs!...does anyone know why?

We both work 9-5 though, I would be worried about leaving a puppy at home alone. He has his heart set on it, but I am more skeptical and would like to do some reseach on the matter from people who have full time jobs and have a dog at home. Would it be fair on us or the dog?

On june 12th my cat gave birth to 4 kittens. we got rid of 3 of them and kept one and he will be 14 weeks on monday. We want her to have another litter but we dont know when she could get pregnant again. someone told me that you had to wait until her kittens stopped nursing but he is still nursing once a day.

I have a female and male rabbit. Both were altered May 2006. Well, last night my male began chasing the female around. He was nudging her like he did before he was neutered to mate with her. She finally stood still, and presented herself to him as she did when they did mate. Anyway, he mounted her and humped away a few times and stopped. What the heck is going on ? Can a neutered animal get frisky and have and erection and my altered female was willing to mate ??? Any insight would be helpful. I tried looking on web and could not find anything out. Is this normal behavior ? It was a first for him since the operation.

and now he has a bite on his throat. He has a hard time to meow and eat. I really cant afford to take him to the vet but its so sad to see. It happend about 3 days ago and I dont want it to get worse. Do they heal themselves or will it get worse? I need advice! thanks

Iv already got 2 cats of my own but Iv been feeding a lovely stray, but now the winter is coming in im wondering if there is anything i could do to get it rehomed, it is so friendly and keeps trying to get into my house but my 2 wouldnt have any of it. I am looking after a tortoise for a neighbor, I havent seen it once but the food keeps dissapearing...the neighbor feeds it cabbage greens, and I have run out and cant find anymore, whats the nearest alternative or something that at least wont kill it and it might like?? 3 days left of feeding it...HELP

I have a 4.5 month old yorkie/chihuahua mix. In the past week she has destroyed 3 of her chew toys (a rubber pacifier, a rubber foot, and a cloth squeaker). Is there a brand of chew toys that can withstand all her teething? She does have a kong. Something similar to that kind of material would be ideal. TIA.

Just wondering whether it would be possible for a worm (which takes a long time to die anyway) to still be alive within a bird's digestive system. To this end, if it were still alive and the bird happened to die (say, by choking to death on said worm) could the worm re-emerge victorious from the gullet of the dead bird? I await your answers.

He's about 5 months old now, a golden retriever. He used to cry when he wanted out of the crate and when you opened the door and told him to come he would come out. Now when you open the door to let him out, he stays in and cries more. If I pet him for awhile he's fine while you're petting him but soon as you stop he sits in there and cries more. Why the change all of a sudden?

Hi
We have a new Dogue de Bordeaux, he's a lovely little thing, he's 12weeks oldand just going out. When I put the lead on him he insists on grabbing it to chew and when we do get walking he wants to stop and sniff at everything. Should I let him do this or pull gently to keep him going. Any help appreciated. I've tried getting him to sit then walking a few steps with him but its not working.
