It sounds gross but it works - move the dog's feces into the holes or areas where he digs. He won't want to have his face down in his own filth, and he'll stop digging there. If he moves to another spot to dig, just keep doing it until he gets that digging=poop in your face.

rub the dogs nose in what he/she is doing wrong. it may take a little while, but the dog will realize that what he/she is doing is wrong and will stop.

whatever you do, don't hit, smack or beat the dog with an object; the dog will only rebel against you.

reward the dog when he/she doesn't dig up the grass, this way the dog will know that this is what you want them to do.

dig up area dog is digging....lay some chicken wire (get at home depot ) cover back up,replace sod...when dog starts to dig he will not like the sensation of the wire scraping his nails....it does work though he might just move to another spot....after you do it a few times he'll stop......my dog use to dig up where the septic tank is...that did the trick and she never digs at all now (been 2 yrs ...dig free )

You have to lead him around the yard with a prong collar on. Most people think that the prong collar is some kind of weapon, but it is just a tool that helps to teach the dog the way it's mother would have.

My dog used to dig holes, chase rabbits, shoot all through the house and tear up my garden, but after working with him on the prong collar for 3 weeks, he has improved exponentially.

This is gross, but I've heard of it working. You put your dogs poop where he digs and you bury it, when he digs it up he won't like it and if you keep this up, he will eventually get tired of it. Dogs don't want to be near their own poop. Good luck.

Plant it in pots. Dogs hate when you do that.

Oh, and spray pepper juice or pepper powder all over the area where he digs and he'll learn that's a bad idea.

Pour concrete all over your yard. This will cause your dog great pain when he tries to dig.
