I have worked at a shelter for many years and was sickened about how many dogs and cats we had to put to sleep everyday. And if it was a pit or pit mixed.nice or not, preagnant or not,we had to put them to sleep. If you are certain about breeding your dog you should at least research on what can go wrong and maybe have homes allready set up. Make sure you read on what type of health problems in your breed are hereditary that you can improve. When I had kids I researched what my preagnacy would be like. There is a lot more to know than what you can learn here. And realy think of what you are doing..One good thing to do is make a contract with the people you sell dogs to that if they ever have to get rid of the dog,the dog is to be returned to you. Then you can help insure it has a home.

The fish would obviously die, and I can't see how you could operate in the water.

I'm a nanny for 4 kids. I love these kids like they are my own, but sometimes I wonder if they aren't evil! Their mom breeds rabits and the girls each have a pet rabbitt they can play with and handle when they want so they don't hold the baby bunnies. Well, last week they took a rabbitt in their room (mom was here not me) while Mom was in shower and proceeded to throw the poor thing aound like it was a stuffed animal. Mom took rabbitt to vet, but it died anyways. Now mom is doing everything she can think of, taking away TV til the end of the year and even taking away toys. I know what the girls did is cruel and wrong and needs punished, but these girls do not respond to any type of punishment. I want to find a way to help them understand that what they did is wrong, but I'm not sure how to. Can anyone give me any sugestions? The kids are 2 1/2, 4, 5 and 8 (The 8 year old didn't particapate in throwing round the rabbitt, but didn't say anything to anyone about it either.) Help

My last question is being totally misunderstood! Ringo my yellow lab with the tar issue is just fine. The tar was not hot, it was very cold tar on a Pa. road thats been done for 4 days. It happened on a 60 degree evening and it was raining, which I learned brings out the oil from the tar. Michael didn't think anything of it since he walked Ringo yesterday on the same back road he loves to walk on and didn.t get any tar oil on him. I adore all animals especially Ringo who I saved from stupid people sho shouldn't reproduce let alone own a pet. I've rode tennesee walkers(show horses) since age 3 and cared for, fed, shod even helped give enemas to. Along with dogs, cats, wild baby bunnys that I bottle fed. So, to you jerks that think I don't know what I'm doing w/ Ringo you're sadly mistaken. I thought people were there to help, when fellow pet owners had trouble, The emer. vet I called told me what to do. I just cared about Ringo enough to reach out to you! Just to be safe. How sad :[

What are the breeds of toy dogs which have less risk of being too noisy (like chihuahua, mini pinsc, yorkshire terriers, etc). The only quiet one i know i shihtzu. I know they can be trained to bark less but thats just impossible with the noisy ones like the above mentioned. Any others?

They both react really badly to storms and fireworks and stuff although the short haired one is far worse, virtually shaking herself to pieces. I've tried getting sedatives but they don't work very well for them. Advice please. I realise this is really two questions.
