on our balcony...a neighborhood cat climbed up there( we are on the 2nd floor) and attacked her..now she is at the vet for an abscess and other complications caused from it and it is costing me $1400.00 SO FAR. If I find out who the cat belong to...what are the laws in getting the owners to pay for the bill. How can I prove it is thier cat that attacked mine? Should I get photos of it on my balcony? Trap it? Other suggestions?

The cat I am taking care of used to be a fatty. It is now a healthy weight but it has a flappy skin pouch where it used to have a fat gut. Is there any way to get rid of that short of kitty nip tucking? Will it go away eventually by itself?

I'm moving from Ontario to Alberta. I have a Bearded Dragon Lizard (about one foot long from nose to tail) and I don't want to leave him behind. I trust my parents and brother to take care of him but I'm gonna miss my Beardie. Any ideas on how to get him out there with out having to deal with nasty airplane rules ad regulations?

Ground school lots of horses - mainly parelli. Every horse seems to pick it up in the first session, BUT my 1 1/2 year QH gelding that I have had since birth, is so tame and laid back and despooked, doesn't want to participate in any training. Encouragement with my whip and stick doesn't work - just acts like it is a small nuisance and is definitely not scared. Could he be so tame and gentle he won't learn, or could he be "not smart". First one I ever had like this.

We were at a pet store with our dog and in the front of the store there was a display of a large pen with a doghouse inside. They had placed a plush toy dog in front of the doghouse and my dog was barking at it like crazy. One of the employees opened the gate and said teasingly to my dog, "You wanna get him?" inviting my dog to go in there. Ha! As soon as the gate was opened, my big, brave doggie turned and tried to run out of the store!

NO question about it that I'm going to adopt from the SPCA but I'm in the middle of waiting for an Abyssinian cat/kit to appear at the shelter. I already have a 2 yr. old spayed female cat who is a little used to being the only cat of the household. she's been with her brother before and my parents new kitten (both were neutered). so she really has no problem warming up to a new addition. I have the money and time for a new cat but should I adopt one now or not? should I adopt a male or female? either way, he/she WILL be spayed/neutered. my female is strictly an indoor only cat and so will my new Aby. my 2 yr. old is well up to date on all her vaccinations and is very healthy rigth now. my new kitty will be up to date as well. so, should I adopt now? from experience I know that she won't have much trouble him/her but I'm not sure if the new comer will have a problem with her or not? since that is questionable, should I go ahead and get a kitten instead? Thanks!

Why is it that all you ever hear is humane treatment of animals, but when you try to find someone to take a couple of dogs that someone dumped, all you hear is "we don't have room." "Sorry, you will have to call the dog catcher-they will keep them for 3-5 days and euthenize them"

I've been looking into getting a dog from a shelter (probably not a puppy) but I'm worried that it would be unfair to the dog since I usally have to be gone all day during the week. I've heard that some breeds are better for apartment living and are even happy to be in a small space all day (like a crate) but I don't know what to think about that. Does anyone have any personal experience here, and can you tell me how long you feel okay leaving your dog on its own? Thanks.

I have a ten-gallon aquarium that I just got fish for. Yesterday I got one male dalmation molly to test the water and make sure it would survive. Today I got the rest of my fish: two dwarf gouramis, two green cory catfish, and another dalmation molly to keep the original company. However, ever since I put the new fish in this afternoon, the original molly has been constantly harrassing the new one, chasing it around and nipping at its tail. Does anybody know what the problem is, and if there is anything I should do?
