We were at a pet store with our dog and in the front of the store there was a display of a large pen with a doghouse inside. They had placed a plush toy dog in front of the doghouse and my dog was barking at it like crazy. One of the employees opened the gate and said teasingly to my dog, "You wanna get him?" inviting my dog to go in there. Ha! As soon as the gate was opened, my big, brave doggie turned and tried to run out of the store!

We call my Golden Retriever "Danny Boy" a firedog. Whenever he see's smoke he tries to extinguish it. If someone drops a cigarette he runs over to stomp it out with his paw. What's so funny about that you might be wondering? Well last winter, whenever he went out to the barn with me he would race to put out all those steamy horse plops in the snow!

I have a GREAT ONE!!!! It was in the middle of the winter, my cockapoo was hanging out in his usual location, on the stair landing by a big window. He started barking profusely, he usually does this when another dog walking by the house or someone is heading toward the front door. He kept on barking for a long time, my husband and I kept on looking out the window to see what he was barking at and we couldn't find anything. 20 minutes later, we had enough with his barking and went to the landing to get him off of it. My husband decided that he would lay down on the landing and try to see what the dog was seeing from his perspective. Sure enough, having recently had 2 feet of snow dumped on us, what the dog was barking at was a huge tree across the street covered with snow and it was shaped like a gigantic 30 foot dog.

I have a German Shepherd that is an avid fan of water! If it moves, it is bit!
I was preparing for his puppy rating and was working on getting him in shape. My friend had shown Brittany Spaniels and was helping me prepare my dog for his show. We had just completed a 2 3/4 mile bike ride when I stopped by her house. She was out front watering when my boy was pulling at his leash. She said to go ahead and let him go, she didn't mind if he ran around her front yard. It was a good thing, he ran around, flipped around, and jumped all over her yard for over 20 minutes! The only reason it did not go any longer is that her hands were cramping on the hose! He was still raring to go!

I was playing ball with my dogs in the front yard this afternoon and they both got tired of going after it and laid down.I propped my front door opened a few inches so my cats could go out and let themselves in as well. There was a nice breeze blowing and my 2yr.old male german shepherd sat sniffing the air for the longest time.I figured there's probably a female in heat somewhere close.
Then he looked up and noticed 2 flocks of large birds flying high overhead. He went nuts barking. The closer they got he acted very anxious and ran to the garage and started barking again.I tried hard to get him to come sit by me but he just kept acting really nervous and barking at them then he ran off toward the back-yard and one of my cats got my attention.
When I finished playing with the cat I went in search of the dog who never did come back but was quiet.I found him looking out my front door shaking.Silly animal afraid of the birds so came inside where it was safe!

gee, which story to tell. my dachshund was on one of those retractable leads. we were at the check out at petsmart. she was sitting calmly in the cart when these 2 giant poodles walked in. she shot out of the cart and tried to grab them. the leash got tangled and tied up a few people. the cashier said that was the funniest thing she had ever seen.

i have a senior dog that likes to climb my cats cage thinking he will get her. thats pretty entertaining.

have a foster dog...i spray him with a water bottle when he tries to steal food from the other dogs. didn't have the bottle the other day, but pointed my finger at him and he ran away thinking i was gonna squirt him.

i could go on, but i'll stop here.

On a windy day my puppy kept staring at this tree that was swaying. I guess he thought it was gonna fall. So the next thing i knew she was running head first into the tree about 5 times to try and knock it down!Of course it didn't work and then she started swaying around and fell! She's alright but it was funny !!

My ferret, Cocoa thinks he's superman. One Christmas, he checked out the Christmas tree warily... He climbed up my leg...Jumped onto the coffee table from there...Checked out the tree again...wriggled back up....Took a run start and leap...Swam through the air and dropped to the floor like a ton weight. Totally missed the tree by a mile! He did it over and over, literally about 15 times! so funny...

One time my dog copied exactly what I did. One night I was catching bugs flying around our bug zapper and she started jumping in the air biting at them. Then I went over to a tree and started taking bark of it and she started biting and scratching the bark.

My bird used to chirp like crazy at his "friend" in the mirror. He'd walk up to the mirror, chirp for a bit, but it always ended the same. For some reason, he'd get upset, his chirping would take on an angry tone, and he'd try to bite the bird in the mirror. I still have no idea what they were arguing about.
