we just got my 10 yr old a guinea pig for her B Day and she adores her new pet. Yesterday After she had been carring the pig around and holding it near ehr face I noticed what looks to be hives on my daughter. I asked her if it was iching at all and she said no. I have never heard of some one being allergic to guinea pigs before.
BTW The "hives " left almost as quickly as they appeared and my daughter has shown no other signs of illness or allergy symptoms

I haven't travelled on a plane since the attacks happened so haven't had to go through security. But how do I go through security with a puppy. Do I need specific information on the puppy? Do they Xray the puppy? (stupid question maybe but I didn't know if they did that as well)

whenever i let my dog outside without a leash he runs away. He is a good dog besides this. I've tried rewarding him when he comes back, yelling at him, i've even tried smacking him on the behind. Is there anything i can do to stop this behavior?

My hand-reared duck is a male, and is biting everyone's feet and legs. When you run away from him, he chases you, and bites you even more. He reacts to aggression by biting even more. I don't know what is causing it, but can someone please help!!!

Symptons: sluggish, feels better in the mornings. Losing weight, not enthusiastic, eyes are glazed, not eating well, I noticed that his belly is bigger than the rest of his body though. He has a temperature. He's been to the vet twice. He doesn't have cancer. He does wheez just a little.

Any ideas will help us out a lot. thanks

Was adopting a cat from a woman that has cats of her own and is also fostering cats for the ESPCA. her next door neighbors moved and couldn't take their 2 yr old cat with them, she took it in and posted it on craigslist. she didn't have much room 4 the cat so she asked another neighbor to house it down their basement. she left the cat on her front porch and when the lady came out to take her in the cat wasn't there. a couple days went by and they got in contact with each other and the lady asked about the cat cuz i wanted 2 pick her up and she said I thought you had her. the neighbor thought the woman that I was adopting the cat from had taken her back into the house, which she hadn't. the lady I was adopting the cat from said she was mostly an indoor cat and didn't go far from her porch. she thinks someone took her in and is hopeful about finding her. I'm very worried and sad and will do everything it takes to get her back. will my method of the large cash reward work, how likely ?

we have a dog and that dog belongs to one member of the family and he is closest to that person.
when she goes out, the dog often goes into her room and chews on her mattress. he has already ruined one mattress. we try to keep him out but he usually manages to get back in eventually.
my question is, why does he chew this one person's mattress and not anyone else's? he loves her the best by far.
thanks.

Basically I had put some of the Hartz Flea Drops for kittens on my 5 month old cat about 3 weeks ago and it didn't seem to kill the fleas on him. I have some Advantage for kittens on hand and would like to use it tonight to kill off the last of the fleas. Can I use it safely at this point? The vet had recommended waiting about a month before using another medicine. I'm thinking that since Hartz is a topical medicine not absorbed into the bloodstream vs. Advantage which IS absorbed into the body, it might be okay at this time frame? What do you think?

My problem wild and wooly 4 month old kitten,Tipper, wishes to thank you all for the input and to inform you kind folks that his master (hah) has tried all those tricks and then some short of sticking a shot gun up his--- (I chuckled at that comment). His corgi buddy is a year old and they are true buddys. Got kitten to entertain pup. Imagine if you will: Pup sleeping on bed and Tipper comes running into bedroom leaps up in the air, clearing bed by at least 3 feet and landing on pup. which results in a wresling match then a chase-who is chasing who depends on who gets tagged. No, Tipper does NOT jump up on things to get away from dog. If anything dog should be the one trying to get away from him. Tips claws are clipped on a regular basis. This kitten is long in both body and legs. No nic-nacs sitting around just books and heavier items-they hit the floor nicely. At 6 a.m. all h--- breaks loose and I have to get up or get trampled-not happy camper at that hr. Thanks for your help anyway

i recently got 3 red ear sliders and im not sure about how to take care of them. i got them turtle pellets but they dont seem to eat it and its been a few days. i heard they dont eat during the winter time but its only sept. is this normal? im considering getting them a water plant, any suggestions about what they enjoy most to eat? also, i know turtle needs to bask but i havent got them a light. instead, i open the window and let the sun dry them. since its getting colder should i buy them a uva/b light or would any regular household lamps work?
