go to www.immigration.govt.nz and check your status for residency. It's a points based system, the more qualified/younger you are the better and easier it is to gain permenant entry into the country.
It can be a long process edpending on your country of origin and is also quite expensive.

You are hoping to find a special someone in New Zealand by moving here? Hm... you know, the people are nice here, but, and I don't know where you're coming from, but there are not many people here. You may have a better selection of future partners in larger countries... other than that, NZ is an excellent place to live, and finding friends is super easy - there seem to be interesting, well-educated people everywhere. Just visit the webiste that's been suggested by other answerers, it'll help you immigrate. Good luck.

you have to contact the embassy of New Zealand in the country you are in, and ask if they are opening immigration doors for immigrants.
