My last question is being totally misunderstood! Ringo my yellow lab with the tar issue is just fine. The tar was not hot, it was very cold tar on a Pa. road thats been done for 4 days. It happened on a 60 degree evening and it was raining, which I learned brings out the oil from the tar. Michael didn't think anything of it since he walked Ringo yesterday on the same back road he loves to walk on and didn.t get any tar oil on him. I adore all animals especially Ringo who I saved from stupid people sho shouldn't reproduce let alone own a pet. I've rode tennesee walkers(show horses) since age 3 and cared for, fed, shod even helped give enemas to. Along with dogs, cats, wild baby bunnys that I bottle fed. So, to you jerks that think I don't know what I'm doing w/ Ringo you're sadly mistaken. I thought people were there to help, when fellow pet owners had trouble, The emer. vet I called told me what to do. I just cared about Ringo enough to reach out to you! Just to be safe. How sad :[

I just looked at the question you posted, and I think you are overreacting just a little bit. You did receive a number of replies from people who seem to have been genuinely interested in helping you. Don't let a few ignorant people get under your skin.

Glad Ringo is going to be ok :-)

I apparently missed something but I could see people on here giving you a hard time. I have posted specifically to some people that are going to cost someone their pets life acting as if they know something. Im truly sick of the sarcastic go to the vet answer. I think the copy and paste is a bit excessive too. This is for opinions and other experiences if someone wanted to read another website Im sure they could do it on their own.

My pretty girl got caulk on her and it took forever to get it off. Dogs are like kids we always have to be on the lookout for dangers. Just like kids accidents happen. Please don't let the people on here disturb you. I think most of us are here to help where we can and you were right to ask. I consider this a forum for us to share our experiences and even though your vet may have told you one thing this is a good way to get what others may have been told in similar circumstances. Different vets have different opinions. Just like people Drs they may not take into consideration the patient. Different dogs need different things and by you getting other information you could determine what was the best treatment for Ringo.

Don't take it too personally hun.. This is not a professional forum, it is not made up of Vets and animal specialists.. This is a public forum made up of all kinds of people and judging by some of the answers I'd guess that most in here are kids under 20 years . With that said, chin up and smile because, yes, there are a few that genuinely do care about animals in here AND do know what they are talking about, those are the ones you pay attention to.. not the others. Enjoy your day and huggles to Ringo

I missed the question. But good job calling the vet immediately.
Just goes to show that anything could happen anytime, anywhere and we must all pay special attention to our animals and their surroundings at all times.
I always have at least one eye on my dogs.Friends tell me I need to relax.I'm too uptight about them getting hurt or into something.
Same friends take their dogs to vet with an ailment expecting a shot or pill to fix a problem they have no clue what caused or when it started.I know when my dogs start to limp before it's noticeable and what they were doing when it started.I don't wait till my dogs are in obvious misery before I call the vet.And I keep my dogs out of things before they can get into them. But things happen at times that are beyond our control.
