I'm getting a toy chihuahua & was wondering what the normal cost of one is. She will be to small to have her 1st shots when I get her because of the breed she is so I will be responsible for that when she gets big enough. Let me know if you know a round about price. Thanks!

well i am reluctantly writing this here because i really dont know what types of responses i will get?? especially after all of the nasty things that some of you said about the death of steve irwin!! friday was a horrible day for me and my family. my sons dog of 13 years was tragically ran over right in front of our house. we live on a dead end street and my son and i usually walk in the neigborhood without worring about trafffic. well on our way to wak the short distance through the woods. my so called best friiend came barreling down the road and the dog darted out in fron tof him. we tried to get him to the vet, but it was too late!!! my son is devastated and so am i!~ if anyone has any advice or help on how to deal with this tragedy it would be greatly appreciated. as for anyone that might want to make sport of our loss or grief. then all i can say is i forgive you and i hope none of you ever have to deal with such a thing. really no one deserves to lose someone they love!!

my cat every now and again just launches herself at me at claws and cuts my arms very badly even biting me, it hapend last year and she seemed quite calm lately going to my oldest daughter laying on her lap going aslep, which she has never done, but then the other night i wos reading a book in bed and she was sitting on the bed purring away, the next think i knew she launched herself at me and did the above, it looks so bad like i have taken a blade to my arm.she has been done so she cnt have kittens. but she also sometimes flies around the house as if she was a kitten any body got any ideas about why she attacks me like this at random times and about her behaviour

I've been reading up on how to take care of Chinchillas.. and I understand that Chins should be fed a pellet for food... but it seems the only pellet food that my local pet store has bits of fruits or vegies in it... would that be okay? and about treats... what can they have, what can they not have, and how often could I give treats?

Oh and also in some vids I see people have put down soda boxes for their chins to play in.. and I was just wondering if its safe for them just incase they chew and swallow some of the cardboard?

i have a 4ft aquarium. For some reson all my fish are gasping for air and not eating and seem to be acting strange. Ive had tank containing all fish for well over a year and never had any problems like this. I lost 2 fish from the tank last week. Ive done a water change, cleaned filters.... thay also have an air pump in there. Any ideas or treatments??? Tank contains, Ghost knife, pleco, silver shark, pictus, fighter, sevrum and maybe 1 or 2 others.......

My son had this snake when he died. He was only 17 and it is one of the few things I have to remember him with. But, as time has passed, I have wondered if it would be better for the Pine Snake to be released into the wild, here in Oregon. They are indiginous to the area, but is this the humane thing to do? Thanks for any help.

I own a cat and a dog - my cat, Minou, is a wonderful hunter and brings me his "prizes" with pride on a daily basis, up until now it wasn't a problem, I would praise him for his great hunting skills and then quietly and sneakily get rid of his "present", a pet should never be punished for a natural instinct.. anyways.. my young chihuahua, Taz, who is an extremely finicky eater, has decided to add mice to his menu *shudders*, usually I am fast enough to get to Minou's prizes before Taz .. but today Taz got one and would not give it up, instead he devoured it, every inch of it.. *ewwww*.. that happened several hours ago.. so far he seems fine.. is this normal for chihuahuas to like mouse meat????

Its like super dooper hor and humid here and she is really out of shape, we havnt ridden her for a couple of months, and even when she is just standing she breaths hard, and no matter how long i cool her out for, she DOESNT cool out.
how can i get her back in shape without killing her???
(other than retiring her!!)

I just bought an eight week old pug puppy from a pet store. I paid a little over $1,000 for her. She is CAC registered and she comes with a 3 year warranty, a vet check, clean bill of health, a free spay certificate, and a few other goodies. Did I pay to much for my little Pepper? I am not sure. If it matters any, I bought her from Petland. Please leave me some feedback. Thanks!

We got two Kittens about 3wks ago. one is older than the other. When we brought them home, the older one was sneezing. Now the younger one is and they both are now sneezing. Do I have to take them into a vet to get over this or will it pass. What can I do to help them get over it? They're fine and have a lot of energy. They don't look sick. Just keep sneezing.

I have 2 'mini bullfrogs' (that is what they were called at the pet store) in my fish tank. One is doing perfectly fine, the other has a swollen right eye that is covered w/ mucusey film. He has had that for about a week now & I've been putting antibiotics in the water which seemed to clear up his eye a little but now he is tipping his head to the right and constantly spinning in circles...as if he had a stroke or something. What is wrong with him and what can I do?? :-( Ps. He's quarantined from the other fish now..

I just got a 6mth old cat. Everytime she goes to the bathroom and is finished doing her business she paws outside the box to cover her business even though theres no litter outside the box. In the end the poop ends up being uncovered. What are some things i can do to get her to cover her business in the litter and stop pawing at nothing outside the box?
