We got two Kittens about 3wks ago. one is older than the other. When we brought them home, the older one was sneezing. Now the younger one is and they both are now sneezing. Do I have to take them into a vet to get over this or will it pass. What can I do to help them get over it? They're fine and have a lot of energy. They don't look sick. Just keep sneezing.

if the older one still sneezing and you have had it for 3 weeks, then yes, you need to take them to the vet. it is probably an upper respiratory infection. i took one of mine to the vet and he got exposed to it. a few days later he was sneezing. a few days after that, they were all sneezing. they need an antibiotic to get over it.

It 's probably an upper respitory infection. Next thing you know the eyes will be running. I too adopted 2 kittens a couple of months ago. Both were sick with the upper resp. Go to 1800petmeds.com. Look under medications and order yourself some Clavamox. It works like a charm, and you don't need a vet to get it. Save some money!!! The dosage will be listed on the bottle. It goes by weight. You can also try amoxicillin. Liquid or pill form. Any way you put it, mine still have their colds after doses of both and a trip to the vet. They are passing it back and forth to each other. Unless you get an antibiotic, it's not going to go away.
Trust me on this one.

I suggest that you take them to the vet and get them started on antibiotics. My kitten's cold did get worse and his symptoms went from sneezing to lethargy. The antibiotics helped, but it took about three weeks for the cold to vanish.

As long as they are happy, playing and eating, having fun you have nothing to worry about. Sounds like they might be passing a virus back and forth between them.

Things should resolve themselves in another week. If they develop more serious symptoms such as becoming lethargic, not eating or eliminating normally then you must move fast to the vet's.
