My dog keeps biting my knees, toes or pants. I've tried bitter apply spray on my skin but it just seems to dissolve. She is just over 8 weeks. I understaind it's because she's teething but how do you teach her bite inhibition. I try to give her a chew toy each time she comes after my finger or what not and she ignores it and continues to go after my finger or toe. My boyfriend doesn't seem to have this problem as much. He just ignores her for a few makes his hands in fists or makes them stiff and then she stops. But he also doesn't play as much with her as I do.
What is playing with your puppy? I take a stuffed puppy and let her chew at it and play like the stuffed puppy is another puppy playing with her. Is that wrong?
Does she me more as her play buddy and that's why she like to nip more at me? It hurts and I don't get mad or yell at her but evey time I do walk away she follows, bites or if I put her in her excersie pen she screams/barks and continues to find ways out.

As a result of his AIDS his mouth gets so sore that he is now terrified of eating. Even the smoothest liquid food he cannot have more than a few mouth fulls until retreating in pain. Every month he gets an injection that helps the pain and inflamation to go down. But now this does not seem to work any more.

She had coccadia. The vet gave her medicine for the coccadia and her diarhea. We are on the 10th and final day of treament. After starting the treament she was eating like a normal dog, excited about food and couldn't wait. It was a mix of her puppy hard food from the breeder and a/d (mixed wet food) from the vet.
Then on the 4th day of treament we were told to start giving her i/d (help her stool form more - it look more like chicken and rice) mixed with her hard food. She loved it. We just returned to work on Tuesday and yesterday, Wednesday's dinner (3rd meal of the day) she only ate 1/2 of her meal. This morning (1st meal) she only ate 1/4. The vet's office told us ID is very bland and to try just feeding her only puppy food. I have given her tiny amount of treats (TINY) like crumbles less than a 1/4 inch in amount. She went crazy when I open up the container yesterday evening. Is she comparing her food with the treats? Or it he ID just bland.
VANA is just over 8wks.

I am currently feeding my two kittens IAM's for kittens (as directed by the vet). My girlfriend and I work 9-5 so we have been leaving a bowl out (topped up every morning) all the time. Is this a bad idea? Should we let them eat in the morning, take the food away from them when we leave for work, and then reintroduce the food when we get home for dinner? I'm worried that they may over eat and get fat if food is available to them all the time.

My 1 1/2 year old black lab's nipples just started poking out and now her whooha is really swollen. I don't think she could have gotten pregnant. Even though she is not spaded. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I've just bought a beautiful Rotteweiler puppy! When people ask what breed he is, and I tell them, 90% of people pull the' oh right, a rotteweiler' face. Why do people still prejudge this breed? Dogs, like people, are not born bad, how they are bought up defines the charachter they develop into! Does anyone else own a dog that people frown upon, down to bad publicity, or lack of understanding...?

I have been recently feeding my dog on homemade foods, such as rice with chicken, some vegetables etc, However I am running short of ideas on what more to feed her, ( to keep her interested and satisfied) So my ask of help comes here, does anyone know any recomended sites that offer homemade recipies for food for your dog. Maybe from Dr Harry Cooper?

Thanks in advance to all!!

Also take a look at this site.

I was wondering if anyone knew of the risks of parvo for a puppy that has had 3 of the puppy vaccination series, and has accidentally been exposed to the virus. Is the puppy immune yet, or will this become fatal. Just a scenerio, not really happening, but would like to understand better.

Ok, so I know cats are nocturnal. I'm aware that they're up all night playing. The problem is that I adopted a spayed femal cat this week, and she is up all night meowing. I'm a grad student so home all day and she gets plenty of attention. However, around 3am she starts meowing, and it doesn't stop! I can't take much more of this, I'm going nuts. I wanted an indoor only cat and the agency I got her through said she was indoor, quiet and cuddly. Well she isn't any of those things. Is this meowing all night long normal? If it doesn't stop, is it wrong of me to take her back to the humane society?

I've recently decided to train my dog (husky/chow/pit mix) with his Nutro dog food. He seems to really love the food. This morning was the first time I trained him with it. It's not the first /lessons/ of training, however. I trained him since he was 7 weeks. Now he's 7 months. He knows sit, stay, come, down, wait, up, off, speak, release, and 'okay'... Of course, he only does them if there are no distractions. He does alright without treats. The only ones he's really got down packed are 'release' and 'okay'. Still workin', though. =P So, do you think it's a good idea to measure his food, and give it to him piece by piece as I work with him on his training? Instead of loading him with treats. I heard it's not good to give a dog too many treats at one time... What do you think? =)

we used to live where my little yorkie would run on mostly cement and I've never had to clip his nails, they always stayed very short. Now that we've moved I didn't keep up on the trimming and his front paws have pretty long nails and i can't trim them short because the quick has grown to long. He still keeps his back nails short for some reason. Does anybody have any tips on how to get the nails to be able to cut shorter? Hope this makes sense,

Our 13 year old dog keeps peeing on the floor. She has only being doing this the past few weeks. She often pees in the same place, but has in other places as well. We never seem to be able to catch her in the act. We took her to a vet there does not seem to be any bladder problem. Any suggestions - Regards
