sounds like pregnancy.... :o) They can get Urinary Tract Infections but I don't think it causes swollen nippies or hooha's.

She's probably just in heat since she's not spayed and you don't recall any time she could have been alone and a male could have reached her. Her vulva will be come swollen and reddened and most of the time there is a bloody discharge. The nipples can become swollen. Sometimes they will put on weight and eat more. Also, dogs are good at getting pregnant when you think they can't, so I would have her spayed as soon as she comes out of heat. The more heat cycles she goes through, the more likely she is to get breast cancer or pyometra (a nasty, often fatal, uterine infection). If she IS pregnant and you don't spay her, the vet should be able to palpate fetuses around 30 days at the earliest, then an x-ray at about 58 days to see how many puppies are there would be prudent. She will need to be on a high quality puppy foor until she is through weening the pups. Best recommendation is spay.

Definitely sounds like she's in heat. At 1-1/2 years old she should have come in heat a couple of times by now.

I imagine that she's simply come in heat. Depending on the mother, bitches can come in anywhere from 6-24 months. Especially if her nipples have just now started to swell. Bitches can get urinary tact infections however they usually are accompanied by other symptoms such as lethargy, fever, and increased thirst.

About to go into heat. You need to get her spayed asap before she bleeds all over your house.
And yes dogs can get UTI however the most noticeable sign of it is frequent urination

You never know, she could be pregnant, dogs are sneaky! Otherwise, she may be coming into heat or experiencing a false pregnancy (which is actually common in dogs).

She is most likely in heat again.
They come into heat about every six months and stay in heat for about three weeks each time.
Get her spayed for her health and it will lower her risk of cancer.

This doesnt mean that she is pregnant. It means that she is ready to mate. If you are not planning to mate her, than I would recommend spaying her, because then there is a bigger chance for her to get sick with cancer. If you are planning to mate her than please consider the fact that there are so many dogs out there that are homeless.
