I have been recently feeding my dog on homemade foods, such as rice with chicken, some vegetables etc, However I am running short of ideas on what more to feed her, ( to keep her interested and satisfied) So my ask of help comes here, does anyone know any recomended sites that offer homemade recipies for food for your dog. Maybe from Dr Harry Cooper?

Thanks in advance to all!!

Also take a look at this site.

Feeding your dog left overs does sound like a good idea, however not everything we (humanns) consume is sadly not always good for your dogs. Take potatoes and onions for an example, they are too toxic for your dog, I dont want to hurt my dog.

Everyone's already said where to go to find the best lists of dog food home recipe's-- I think that feeding your dog left-overs is actually a good idea- if it's nutritional enough for you to be eating, then I'm sure it's more than adequate for your dog.

Think about the food groups that you need to consume daily and imagine that your dog needs the same benefits- protein, fibre, calcium, etc- though our bodies look a lot different and work differently, we still have the basic needs to build strong muscle and bone.

The rice and different meats are a great idea- maybe you could alter what it is that you're doing with the food during preparation? Read the dog food labelling at supermarkets and think about the ingredients you would need to reproduce something like that.

The story about the guy and his dog is very sad- I wouldn't trust supermarket packaged food for ANY thing for the life of me... I don't get how people can eat those frozen pizza's and things like that, they're so packed full of absolute junk and just disgusting. I'm not surprised that the dog food made the dog sick though-- I can imagine that any human living on such a high-preservative diet would get ill too.

Use leftovers and be sure to give fresh fruit, dried fruit and fresh vegetables, except for onions. And if you allow your dog to eat garlic it will actually help with keeping fleas at bay. Mix in flax seed with the food to if the pet has allergies and gets hot spots, it will also make the fur and skin healthier. I have 3 dogs who love salads.
