Just keep at it. Continue to try petfinder.com....do the shelter lists though. You may not find a teacup, but then again most teacups are not genetically sound dogs anyway. Most have heart and liver problems none of which are going to be inexpensive to fix. Try looking for a toy poodle instead. They are still small and much healthier too. Teacups are expensive because they are a fad...it is not because they are rare or anything like that ....teacups are the 'in' thing right now and puppy mills and inexperienced breeders can make a quick profit off of them. The side affect of this unfortunately is dogs that are not tested for hip/elbow displaysia, other problems common to the breed are not checked for, and dogs that should not be bred to be bred. To get a 'teacup' dog, the runts of the litter are bred to another runt, to another, to help shrink down the size. Other health factors are not taken into consideration. Also try your local shelters, our Humane Society has a 'match-a-pet' program designed for someone who would like to adopt a specific breed and will wait for the dog to come in. Also try www.AKC.org they not only have a REPUTABLE BREEDER referral service, but they also have a breed rescue referral system for purebreds that are in a rescue system.

First you want to understand the version between "toy" and "teacup". A Poodle will be one of three sizes: commonly used, Miniature, Toy. that's a valid height massive difference. The time period teacup is a be conscious used to promote abnormally undersized dogs of many breeds. No respected breeder will ever describe their doggies as teacup. Poodle hair grows continuously. in case you do not have the time or kit to groom your Poodle, then you definately will want to detect a sturdy groomer. A trim once a month sounds about proper for the traditional puppy Poodle. in case you comb out weekly then you definately may be in a position to position off the grooming journeys to at least one yet another month.

Look up a Teacup Poodle rescue association in your area. These are dogs that were once abused or abandoned, or found at a breeder/puppy mill that was abusing it's animals. These organizations are the best places to look for any animal, and they don't usually charge very much.

As these tiny dogs are very popular right now they are bringing a great amount of maney for one. I am not sure you will find one for under $500 but keep looking.
Check locl humane societys and shelters and rescues if there are any in your area and petfinder is a good start. They add new dogs all the time.

My neighbors have a teacup poodle...it is adorable but I think its brain is too small...it's the dumbest animal I've ever seen, and, regardless of all the training they have put it through, it refuses to be housetrained. Buy from a breeder...you probably won't find it less than $500. My neighbors paid $1200 for theirs. Remember that pet stores usually always buy their dogs from puppy mills (inhumane breeding facilities). Reputable breeders want buyers to know their names and they want people to research their businesses. Pet stores will lie to you and tell you that "the breeder prefers to remain anonymous." Please be wary...pet store puppies from puppy mills can have many diseases that won't be found for several years because of how they were breeded and treated in the puppy mill.

if you are looking for under $500 that will be extremely hard. don't buy from pet stores, it is a terrible place and the dogs will be hard to house train, as they are used to soiling their sleep area. CF is right. smaller=$$$$$$$ where as huge dog=$
