I have a male betta, and today when i was about to feed him I noticed the fin just under his mouth elongate (spread out; extend)!! He was showing aggression! I looked around his bowl to see if there was any way that he could have caught a glimpse of himself.. like a mirror. No mirrors, and nothing that could cause his aggression. I watched him for a while and his aggression continued, until I finally dropped some food, and he calmed down and ate. I'm just wondering if this is a normal thing for Betta's.

My husband & I have been married for almost 2 years & have no children (not for another 7 or 8 years) but we do have a cat. We were interested in getting a dog, & we have been researching Greyhounds for quite some time. I know that they do tend to have the instinct to chase (due to their racing background) but many are cat tolerable. I have a few questions for grey owners: Our cat is 2 years old, 16 lbs and pretty much docile, but at times runs through the house & wants to play. I used to dog sit, & she has been with 2 Jack Russels, an Airedale & a Dachshund on many occasions & pretty much stays away from them. Do you think our cat will be receptive to a greyhound & vice versa? (I would separate them during the day when we're at work just to make sure.) We live in an apt (1145 sq. ft.) & live next door to a high school with a running track. Would this work for exercise if the grey is kept on a leash & is taken out quite a few times a day? Do you think a grey would be right for us?

i have a miniture pinchser he has bumps on his back which i noticed on sunday, they are small bumps and more noticeable from afar. but when i look under his skin on the bump area there are little little tiny red almost like scabs and white flakes which look like dandruff. I also noticed that he is shedding more than usual but that may be because i havent been brushing him lately. so please help me on what it may be.

My parents run a dog rescue and they recently took in a stray who was found.(We named her Lily.) She is absolutely adorable but extremely thin. When she was found, a passerby thought she was dead. We are so grateful we got her when we did. She has gained some weight in the month or so since my Parents took her in, but not very much. She is always throwing up. This is not a problem for my parents, but we just want to find what is wrong with her so we can maje it better for her. My parents have tried everything and the vet - who is incredible - has no clue what could be the problem.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?
She is extremely thin and usually very warm to the touch and usually throws up whenever she is excited or immediately after eating or drinking. She throws up so many times a day, I don't know how she can even manage to gain weight at all.
She has a birth defect where her tongue hangs out to the side most of the time. Could this have anything to do with it?

My main question is My cat moved the kittens, to underneath my dresser. I was advised by my vet to wash the kittensin baby shampoo because they had fleas on them. (That's proboaly why she moved them) and now i'm thinking on the bare carpet the fleas will jump right on to them again, then i'll have to wash them again(the washing worked i got all the fleas off) . Should i put them back in there clean box or leave them and not worry about the fleas. I can tell my cat has a strong mother instinct to protect her kittens but she is still clumsy.

I'm so happy. I originally didn't want kitens u knwo the whole pet over popuation thing. However she had other plans on her mind. I wouldhave still had her spayed but bot my bro, mom, and Godmother all want kittens. (Without the drive and adoption fee) So I held off on the spay and have that scheduled for late october after the kittens are weaned. Does anyone have any other general advice for me?
