When we had iguana we fed it romaine lettuce, carrots, squash fresh green beans and every once in a while a little fruit. There is also a kind of vitamins that you sprinkle on the food that you can get at the pet store. He may not be eating because his cage is not warm enough. You may need to look up on the Internet what temperature to keep the cage and get a heat lamp and thermometer, if you don't already have one.

Feeding

What you feed your iguana will be directly related to their overall health and well-being. Green Iguanas are herbivores, that is, they are plant eaters. Animal proteins, such as dog food, cat food, and various "people food" treats should be avoided completely if possible. Iguanas do tend to like junk food, like pizza, but it is not good for them, and feeding them alot of food like this can lead to kidney failure at a young age. If you do feed your iguana "treats", we'd recommend keeping it at a once per month MAXIMUM to be on the safe side. Kale, bok choy, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and other cabbage-related vegetables should be fed only in small amounts. These vegetables can cause thyroid problems if they are fed to your lizard frequently. Spinach should not be fed at all to an iguana, because it binds calcium.

Iguanas require a diet that is high in calcium, low in phosporous, and contains Vitamin D3. Greens should be the staple of the diet. By greens we mean, Collard greens, Mustard greens, Dandelion greens(you can pick these right out of your yard as long as they are not treated with pesticides and washed before feeding), Turnip greens, etc. Mixed vegetables, squash, zucchini, yams, raspberries & blackberries(high in calcium), bananas, and other fruits and vegetables or commercial iguana food can also be added, but the large majority of the diet should be greens. If your iguana is getting a proper diet than no extra vitamins really need to be added to the food.

DO NOT FEED IT CRICKETS. They don't process animal fats. Vegetables only....mostly greens like collards and dandelion. Make sure you have a calcium supplement also. they sell them in most pet store you can sprinkle them on the greens. Make sure you have UV light..they must have a regular day and night.. about 12 hours of day and 12 of night. They also need plenty of fresh water, they need a container large enough to swim in. We put our Iguana in the bath tub 2 times a week to soak...he is 6ft so a pan of water doesn't work..but if you have a young one you can have just a pan of water in the cage. also clean water fro drinking. They can have treats a couple times a week like apples and bananas and other fresh fruit. you have to watch giving them vegetables that can cause high levels of gas like broccoli and spinach, they can have it just small amounts. They are really wonderful pets but do need allot of time and patience to handle..
Good Luck

Personal experience..we have a 6yo 6ft + long Iguana name Zilla

Feed it collard greens, romaine lettuce, mustard greens, dandelion greens. those are some good starter things to feed you iguana for now.
Also you need to check the temperature in the enclosure. it should be between 88-100 degrees F. also check the humidity in there. the heat is essential for the iguana to live and so it can properly digest its food.

they like to eat a lot of veggies: greens, carrots, apples, grapes, tomatoes, make sure that these are chopped up and arent round, because he might choke. He will also eat large crickets, but not as much as the greens.

I think you should go to a petmarket and ask for food or help for your iguana because he sounds sick or maybe you just don't know the food they like. Ask in a Pet Market what kind of food they like. :) I hope your iguana is okay.

veggies. too much insects(animal protein) are bad, and lettuce can be very bad!
it's practically all water, and iguanas can get addicted. it has almost no nutrients. get your iguana to the vet and check its mouth, it might have an infection that is forbidding it to eat.
