have called animal control...nothing...called the police ....nothing....it is a law in our town you must have the dogs secure and carry high dollar insurance on them and i know my neighbor cant afford the insurance for 9 pit bulls. last yr 2 of his dogs killed one of our dogs in front of my wife who is now terrified at the site of one of these dogs.

Have you tried the ASPCA? Do you take pictures? Get witness statements? File in small claims court for the value of your dog and medical bills for your animal. It is worth a try, cheap to file and there are no lawyers.

If you are getting no response from animal control or the police spend $25 on a small tape recording device. Make those calls again documenting the time and date that you made the calls. If after 24 hours no action has been taken, contact your local media. I hope you filed a police report when they killed your dog, if not in most states you have up to 2 years after a crime to report it. Once the local media gets involved, I bet some action will be taken. Do the right thing, those dogs need someone to rescue them and any future victims.

Animal control deals with a lot of cases a day and a case like this may take a while for them to get information. I suggest to keep complaining about the house. Anything that is wrong like no food no water or even no shalter need to be reported. If you witness them fighting any of the dogs call animal control immediately.

The cops! Fighting pit bulls are totally illegal! Im supirsed the cops didn't respond! Its totally horrible to fight dogs but you have to have a lot of proof to get people arrested for it! Just attacking another dog isn't proof a family pet chihuahua could attack another dog. Make sure your have enough evidence before saying someone is dog fighting. If dogs are fighting the will have a lot of scars on them from old fights! If you see a fight in progress report it then!

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. Those were the two places I was going to say to call. Are there any animal shelters or other rescue groups you can call in your area to see if they have connections or some other contacts that can somehow help you?

PETA, SPCA, humane society...any of these can help...also google rescue organizations for pits...the people who fight the dogs should be made to fight with them.

well pit bulls are very sweet, kind and loyal dogs... UNLESS THEY HAVE BAD OWNERS! maby tell your vet about this and they can do something. i would try the police agein.or the humane society or Animal control.
but this IS serious, PLEASE do something.
