i heard that they are because it is rare to find a male calico cat. almost all calico cats are female. i heard this like 5 or 6 years ago, and ever since, i have checked the sex of them whenever i get the chance. so far, all of the ones i have encountered are female. has anyone else ever heard of this?

I'm new to owning cats, even though I've loved them and adored them forever. I owned a new little darling. I want to ask about when your cat licks you. I've read many FAQ's and scientific pages on this but none answered my question. I know that when your cat licks you, it's a sign of affection and acceptance. What I want to know is this: my cat licks my hair, face and upper body a whole lot. No matter how many times I push her away she just keeps on doing it, especially if I just released her (she has a special room for when I sleep). So, is there any medical harm from this? Does cat saliva contain harmful bacteria or anything that can hurt you, especially when they lick a sensitive part such as your face? Does licking harm your hair, skin or well-being? I'm looking for a *scientific* answer if possible (a link to a credible source, preferably). Many thanks in advance.

By bf and I are housesitting at the moment, in a big house with a garden. Some neighbour's cat keeps coming to the backdoor meowing like crazy, he keeps sitting there for hours if we don't open the door, and if we do, he comes in and keeps on meowing inside. What does he want from us?? Food, attention, or what??

How would you do it in a humane way with no pain. People used to drown cats, a painful death.. A man who beheaded his cat with an axe was done by the RSPSA but it was a quick pain free death. I think putting sleeping pills in their food is the best way.

I had 2 neon dwarf gouramis in a 10 gal tank. I have live plants, real nice set up, filters, bubble curtain, etc. I tested the water every other day, Nitrate and nitrite levels were at 0, ph was at 6.8, and ammonia was at .25 (then I added a little ammo lock so the small amoutn of ammonia wouldn't hurt the fish), so that was alright. I came home to find one fish dead, chillin on the bottom of the tank, without any signs of injury. Where did I go wrong? And what do I need to do so the other fish, and any new fish I get don't get infected with whatever the dead fish left behind?

They'r swimmin at the top of the water on their sides, upside down, and in very shallow area's. This behavior is far from their 'norm'. I DO have a filter and pump that creates a waterfall between the 2 levels. The only thing different I can think of is earlier yesterday, i had to switch the food from goldfish to tropical (which is a couple dollars more and supposed to be a higher quality food....?)

I'm not sure if he landed upright. He is not limping and does not appear to be in pain, but should I be worried about internal bleeding or other injuries that might show up later?

Hello All
We are thinking of getting a puppy in a few weeks and have already started stocking up on supplies (kennel, dog bed, lead, collar etc) I have fallen in love with Chocolate Labs but have heard they can easily become overweight if overfed and do not receive enough exercise. What is the recommended amount of exercise and if you have any other tips they would be appreciated! Thanks

You have no contact information so I must do this here. I happen to know the woman who frist wrote the question you were so rude about. There is a old saying walk a mile in someone eles shoes. I know you will not beleive this but this woman is very educated. She had a a heart attack and was in a coma for 3 months. She can speak quite will but she can't put her thought into words very well. It took a a$$ like you to shame her so bad she as deleted her name from yahoo. It took months for her family and myself to get her to try doing this and you took months of work and turned it into sh!t. I am sure you are proud of how you took this womans main way of reaching out away. Hope someone dose it to you when you at your lowest. Thank you. By the way I know I can't spell and my grammer is sh!tie so no need to try to do it to me *****.
