meerkats small animal

Okay, so we think we've got just the dog to add to our family, and he's at the Humane Society. Is the HS okay with the fact that the dog will have to stay outside during the day while we work? We both have steady consistent work hours and could easily keep the dog indoors when we come home...Are they cool with the dog staying outside while working? I don't want to give them any reason to doubt that we'll be good pet owners.

We just got a cat. She's about 2 years old and friendly. We can finally brush her but she has about 7 or 8 clumps of hair on her. She is a long hair and obviously wasn't brushed regularly. Besides shaving her or using scissors, does anyone know how to get rid of the clumps? Maybe a spray on conditioner or something?

I've had my pet cockatiel, Alvin, since I was four (almost 21 years) and he always imitates what I do (when I bob my head, he bobs his head and "dances" on his perch, when I say "pretty bird," he repeats it, etc.).

I'm curious. Why do birds do this imitative behavior? Are they trying to communicate with us? Do they want attention? I have this habit of tapping on something (i.e. a wall, the stair rail in our house) and he'll tap his perch with his beak in response.

Yesterday I had to put my pom to sleep. The night before we were on a walk and he started walking funny and fell in the grass with heavy breathing, yesterday afternoon he started having seizures and by the time i got to the vet he was too far gone. Up until two days ago he was in a little ball of energy and his visits to the vet showed perfect health. His vitals showed that his liver was failing and was causing resperatory failure. Is liver failure a common birth defect in poms?

I live in Hinesville, Georgia and I am moving to Germany. I need to find a super nice home for a very gentle puppy dog. The dog is house broken and will let you know if he needs to go outside. He seems very healthy and has all of his shots. I rescued him from the deep woods when he was about 3 months old. I am the only person that has taken care of him. He craves attention once he gets to know you. He is a very good house dog that needs a small yard to run around in occasionally. He's a Spaniel so knowledge of ear care would be a plus. Anyone in this area interested? Anyone in this area seeing this?

I adopted a corgi last year. He was 7 years old at the time. He is now a bit over 8 years and is beginning to just lay around. I take him for walks and attempt to get him to play. He is starting to put on weight and that isn't good for my corgi. Any ideas on how to get him motovated?

I relize that it is their house, but the only reasons they can think of not to get a dog is 'You have 2 cats already and I don't want a dog' Me and my 2 brothers (one is 19 one is 22, I am 13) want one. My dad says the only way I could is to give away my kitties. NO WAY! I go on puppyfind.com (the best finding dog website i've been to. You should go there) and there are so many wonderful things! They say 'YOUR NOT GETTING A DOG AND I DONT EVEN WANT TO TALK OR HEAR ABOUT IT! I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT DOGS!' And I say 'Your mean you dont care about dying dogs' then they go "phh' and walk away leaving me sooo mad! I try to get them to go to the humane society but they say 'The humane Society makes me feel dirty' It makes me think we aren't related because I am dedicating my life to animals and they hate them! I know this is also happening to other people so I am wondering what can I do!!?? Please, will someone help me? (I asked my mom to look at petfinder.com with me and said stop!)

Ok, she'll pretty much eat ANYTHING....she loves carrots and apples and things like that. Should I start feeding them to her or continue what I'm doing and just giving her a bite when ever I'm eating them? These foods can't upset her tummy in any way can they, I know they are healthy for humans but does the same apply to animals? Thanks!
