Hrrrm. Sounds like your guy might have something. It could be an infection of some sort. The other option, as mentioned by other responders is that because your guy is still young, he may be having some perching problems. I don't believe this is the case from the descriptions you've given.

Best thing to do, if you can, is get him to a vet. If you can't, you can get some bird medications at pet stores such as Erythromycin and Tetracycline. It's not the best thing to do, but it's better than worrying about his condition. Try to keep your guy warm, too, by shining a light into 1/2 his cage with a towel over the top to keep in heat.

Good luck! Hopefully nothing serious is wrong!

Sometimes, while they are that young, they might actually fall over when sleeping - hahahhahahaha which is cute

but, if you think it's not an accident and his behavior is weird - you know he's much more active during the day, then I would definitely go recommend seeing a vet about your parakeet - he might actually have a cold and be trying to hide it

By natural instict, animals will try to hide it if they are sick to protect themselves from predators. But since you say he's eating and drinking well, I guess it's more up to you to decide whether he should visit a vet or not.

To be safe though, visiting one wouldn't hurt anyone.

Take him to the vet. There could be any number of things wrong with him:
1) bacterial infection, viral or respiratory infection.... any of which could be given to your other birds
2) nutritional deficiency
3) neurological problems
4) injury
5) other reasons!

The vet is the only sure way to know. It is probably a good idea to seperate him from the other birds, OR, bring them all in to have them checked out too.
