I adopted a corgi last year. He was 7 years old at the time. He is now a bit over 8 years and is beginning to just lay around. I take him for walks and attempt to get him to play. He is starting to put on weight and that isn't good for my corgi. Any ideas on how to get him motovated?

You can make him work for his food. Measure out what he usually gets in a day and take him for a walk. Give him the food as a treat every few 100 feet. If he is hungry, he will come.

Until you get him motivated, cut back on his food if he's gaining weight. Obviously, being overweight is not good for a dog (or a person.) You say you take him on walks? You should walk with him for 45 minutes a day at least. That'll get him in shape and make both of you feel better.
