Are you allergic to wasps or bees or anything like that? I am and it can kill me. It's normal for the area to swell so don't worry about that but, if it gets worse or you get light headed, short of breath, really itchy, dizzy or anything out of the ordinary go to the emergency roon ASAP. In fact, depending on how bad the sting is, you may want to go now just to make sure. If your arm is swollen big time, you are cleary allergic. Take some Benedryl with an antihystemin or any type of allergy medication. Soak it in hot soapy water or make a poultus. A poultus is a paste made of baking soda and a little hot water. It has to be a paste or it won't have any effect. Make it as hot as you can stand it and put it directly where you were stung. This will draw out any venom or poisons and take away itching. If you get reactions like this when you are bit by something, even a mosquito, you may want to talk to your doctor about an epinephrine pen. I have to have one with me at all times.

This is a local allergic reaction. Benadryl will help, but you must keep an eye on it and go to the doctor if it progresses. If you were truly stung by a wasp, there will be no stinger. Only honeybees leave those.

If it is quite swollen, and especially if you start feeling dizzy, or your lips swell, or you have shortness of breath at all, then either get to the hospital, or call 911.
If it is only minimally swollen, and you have no other symptoms, then try some ice, and some benedryl.

Make a paste of meat tenderizer and water. Put the paste on the wound. It really works. Also this works with an asp sting too.

Apart from visiting your doctor and getting some drugs, I don't know anything you can take. Many people recommend putting vinegar on the sting but this is actually an old wives' tale.

you should check to see if the stinger is still in you. when i was little and i got stung my mom would take cigarette tobacco and put it on the sting and it would draw the poison out. i still do that now. it works.
