I have wanted a pet (especially dog) ever since I knew what they were. My dad loves animals, but my mom hates them because they shed and make a mess everywhere.
We also have the problem of where to put our animal when we go on vacation. My parents aren't willing to spend any money on a shelter or any place like that. :(
Does anyone know what I should do?

Thanks.

I have 3 pet guinea pigs. If I get pregnant can I still have them and clean their cage?Is it harmful? I am worried about the ammonia (urine) in the air.
My husband and I are going to start a family - I know pregnant women should not be around cats, but what about guinea pigs? The vet says it is fine. However, the March of Dimes says you should stay away from all rodents, including guinea pigs as it can be harmful to the unborn baby. Will I be able to clean the cage with gloves and a mask...or do I need to stay away completely?

Did you all hear about a house guest who put kittens in a hot pan of oil with porkchops? What's up with that? I would never invite that
looney bin over again!

I'm not good with breeds of dogs, however i've been wondering about the kind of dog i have. We got him from a pets adoption at a local store and they informed us that he may be part shar pei and boxer. Others have told us he may have some chow or pitt bull.
The dog is short haired, medium height, brown hair, wrinkled forehead, spotted tungue, and has a docked tail. He is 1 year and 5 months; 45 lb.
Um..If you would like to see some pictures of him just email me and tell me.

One of my black moors has what appears to be a dust bunny (no kidding, it looks like a whitish bit of dust) or a cottony looking clump around one of his fins. He doesn't swim around much and when he does he doesn't use the "dusty" fin. And now another one has a small bit of fluff on its back fin. What should I do? Can I pick it off? Should I medicate? If so, what type of meds?

I have two female cats that are 6 years old. My vet tells me that they are a few pounds overweight and I should put them on a diet and exercise them. The cats are strictly indoor. I do play with them, and I buy Authority Adult Lite and Hairball control formula. What are some good ways to help my two lovelies lose about 2 to 3 pounds? He said it should take about 4 to 5 months for the weight to come off.

I have five month old Golden, and she uses her teeth for everything! She bites people and she thinks that we're playing with her but we're not. Shes and overall very good dog, except for her biting. Im afraid to have my younger family members over because she might bite them by accident.

me and my dog has had this battle for months now. i had my dog on table food, she got real sick from it. had liver problems. her vet says she is now 90% better. but im having so much trouble getting her to eat dog food. she has lost so much weight and she looks awful. sometimes she will nibble at it, other times she will walk past it 100 times a day and not eat. her energy level is low and i know its cause shes not eating like she wants to. someone please tell me what i can do to get her to eat, what can i try. is there any human foods i can give her with her dog food to help? im really at my wits end and when i look at her i grieve for her. anyone please help?
