They have about another week before they want to try food. When it is time, make the food a moist type, or wet the kitten kibble with a little water to make it easier for them to eat it. Even when they start eating solid food, they need some time to drink the mother's milk still. Good luck!

We'll first of all your cat should have never had kittens. Its called S P A Y I N G ! ! ! Anyway, the best food to put out is either canned food or human baby food (meat flavor). Just leave it out near by, they'll figure out what to do. Also try KMR (kitten milk replacer), which you can get at pet stores. You can just put it out in a small bowl or mix it with the other food. Don't leave any food out any more than a few hours as it will go bad. Just give them a little at a time. Hope this helps.

Hi! I have 5 cats now, and have had several kittens over the years. Their mom should take care of them. They are still a little young yet to be completely weaned. If you want, you can try some canned food, take some hard food and moisten it with warm water, or you can try Purina Kitten Chow. But, usually the mom teaches them everything they need to know. I wouldn't worry too much. OR if you are still worried about it, I would take them (with their mom) to the vet to see if there might be some medical reason for them not eating. When my cat was a kitten, I didn't think she was eating because she wouldn't do it in front of me. But one night, I got up to get a drink of water, & I saw her eating. Sometimes cats don't like an audience.
Then again, they might just still want to nurse. Kittens will nurse as long as their moms let them! My kitten is now 9 mths old and she still tries to nurse sometimes.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. I'm glad to help!
Good Luck!!!!

Just so happens I am raising three orphan kittens about that age myself. They cant really eat dry food at four weeks, and canned adult food isnt good for them. (Eukanuba makes a canned kitten food though)Have you tried Kitten Chow? I put the dry kitten chow in the food processor and grind it up, then mix with hot water till it gets soft. You may have to feed them the soupy mixture with a syringe for a while, but also keep offering it on a plate. (They will walk in it and stand in it and make a glorious mess, but eventually they will start eating it) You can put a little kitten milk or even evaporated milk in a pinch, on it and they may take it better. Beware of the poopies when they start eating it, but it will pass....lol Mama is trying to wean them, just be patient and start with the syringe or dropper if needed, they will eventually get it, some faster than others. Good luck!

Yes i can tell u about kittens. When my cat was a kitten I had the same problem but after a while we started to feed him milk and then after a few weeks he started to eat some actual food. But i have no idea why the mother is biting.

You need to use canned food or really soft dry fod(soaked in water, not milk) the smellier the better. Put a little on your finger, and gently smear it on their lower lips, they will lick it off, and if ready(they should be) will get the idea. Some will eat better than others, don't worry to much, the "slower" ones will catch up. They are still getting mothers milk at this piont, once she stops feeding them, they will know where to get it.
She bites them to tell them that they are getting to carried away and are hurting her. It is a natural reaction, and she won't hurt them. It is actually very important for the kittens to learn bite control this way.
Sounds like you are doing a pretty good job.

The kittens are probably biting when they feed which is a sign that they need to start eating food. That is why the mommy cat is so testy. Try wet cat food. It will make their poop soft but it helps to get them started. Mommy cat will eventually stop nursing all together. It might not be time just yet. don't panic, let nature take its course. You have done your part by providing extra food options.

Kittens normally start weaning at about 6 weeks of age, and may nurse occasionally to as late as 12 weeks if mom will permit it. If mom is taking care of them there's no need to try to force this on them; they will start nibbling on solid food (and making a mess of it) when they're darn good and ready.

Get some sort of wet cat food and push their nose into it, just a little. This way, when they try and clean it off, they will also smell and taste it, and thus they will generally start to eat it.

kittes dont eat until they are ready. most start at six to eight weeks. dont force them to eat, just keep dry food and water around and they will eat when ready. when i see them going for the dry food i put some water on it to soften it up some you you dont really have to. all of my mother cats have slaped at and bitted their kittens. i have never seen one hurt by this. the moms **** get sore or she just gets tired and wants a break and sometimes it is just play
