We're not allowed to have any pets at my school, except for fish, rocks, and plants. The administrators never gave us a definite answer why, though. I can understand not being able to have a dog or cat. Those are high-maintenance animals.
But what about guinea pigs? They're pretty low maintenance(I've had two)--the only issue is that they eat a lot. Should I start a petition and ask that small animals be allowed on our campus as pets?

I read that a rabbits nails need to be trimmed to avoid damage. However, I am scared to trim my rabbits nails because she moves her hand and won't let me, so i don't want to hurt/cut her. Taking her to the vet to get her nails trimmed, scares her half to death. Wt can I do?

A German Shepperd I always wanted it so I could train it to be as smart as the police German Shepperds.

A Pitbull because I want a dog who is tough and strong and feirce.

A Caucasian Mountain dog because it's the biggest ever it grows to like 300 pounds and like 4.5 feet tall and I want him because he's the strongest and most dangerous.

Are these 3 dogs good for a first time pet owner oh and i'm gonna have one kitten with the dogs.

My neighbor told me that If I put a rubberband on my dogs testicles that they would fall off and I wouldn't have to take him to the vet to be nuetered. It's been about 5 weeks and they are still there. They are really swollen and he's acting funny. Everytime he eats he throws up. Can I give him pepto?

He is 70lbs. and 7 months old. Recently neutered. We have tried everything. He never breaks the skin, but I had to take her to the dr. today because of swelling and tingling in her arm where he got her last night. Other than this he is a very good dog, but when he goes after her he doesn't respond to any commands or spankings. He doesn't treat anyone else in the house this way. Just her

I've been having trouble getting my horse to change leads, and sometimes he doesnt even pick up the right lead to start out with. What is the best/easiest way to train him to take the right lead? Also, on a slighly different note, what exersizes work well with horse riding? Like, what will build up the right muscles and stuff? I've been getting tired faster then I want to and I was wondering what I could do to get in better shape? Any ideas would be great!! Thanks so much!

I just recenlty set-up a 75 gallon aquarium. Right now the only fish in it are 3 Bala Sharks and 1 Black Ghost Knife Fish. I was wondering if a Rainbow Shark would be a compatible fit for the tank?

My cat just had kittens, now the mother has become very weak. I have stepped in as a surrogate to help out. I have been bottle feeding (the ones that let me) for a week now and I am uncertain on how often I should be stimulating their bowels. The kittens are 3 to 4 weeks old. Bare in mind, the mother still tends to them as often as she can. From what I tell she stimulates there bowels at least 1x per day. She still feeds them, but she gets up after about 5min. this goes on 24 hrs a day. The runt is unable to find a nipple within that amount of time so he never got to eat. The rest of the litter (4 all together) don't get enough to eat in 5 min. so when she leaves the kittens they try to folow her because their still hungry. I read that there feedings need to be every 2 hrs. Stimulating them to go to the bathroom every 2 hrs. seems awfully extensive. Does anyone have information regarding this?

when I was working for a company I was backing into a driveway and ran over a small dog. I was driving a 10 ton truck hauling 3500 gallons of water. The truck made the dog look like a pancake with a wiggly tail still wiggling. Why do people think this is funny?

i just got my first dog(1 1/2 year old yellow lab male, named duke) about a week ago. i've always loved dogs, and after spending time with my friends and their dogs, i decided it was time to get my own. i have had various other pets in the past(cats, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, tarantulas, etc.) but nothing as big as a dog.
duke is currently up to date with all of his shots and has been neutered. he is an indoor dog, of course, and is very easygoing and lovable. i absolutely adore my new pet, as he is so loyal to me even after only knowing each other for a short time.
i make sure to spend time with him all day long and love to spoil him. ;-)
is there anything i need to know that i might not for owning a dog? one thing in particular is, what kinds of "table food" is totally unsafe for a dog to eat(i have a toddler who loves sneaking him scraps!)? i know chocolate is a big no no..what else?
also, any ideas on what i could buy for him(toys, hygiene..)? thanks!

I recently found out that my cats have worms. All 3 of them! I know they're worms but I don't know what kind, I've treated them for roundworms, with over the counter Hartz medicine. Anyways, what kind of worms do they have so I can properly treat them (with over the counter medication)? They are only ever around my cat's butts... they're white and don't seem to have any texture, just look like white drips of something. When one falls and I look at it, it moves... it sometimes gets long and skinny, and sometimes it shrinks and gets fat. Are these tapeworms?

Many generations of Rough Collies have kind of established an iron-clad grip on the franchise, I know. But if you could start from scratch...

....um, sorry, I always get distracted by that word...yeah...anyway, which breed of dog would you want to take over this important role, embodying (maybe updating?) all of Lassie's best values for the 21st century?

(Assume there are NO Rough Collies available, anywhere in the world, because they're all chillin' in the jacuzzi back at my apartment. Which reminds me, time to log off...RRRRRRRRRRRRR ; )
