"How to stop bleeding from a wound", page 322 of the ASPCA "Complete Guide to Cats"

To stop bleeding, firmly press a clean cloth directly on the wound (If possible, put a nonstick pad on the wound first) and apply pressure for three to five minutes. Do not remove a blood soaked pad from the wound or you may disturb the clot; instead, place another pad over the old one. If bleeding persists, you'll need to apply pressure directly to the major artery supplying the area. For a wound on the front leg, press on the inside of the limb a couple of inches above the elbow. For a wound on the hindleg, press on the inner thigh. For a tail wound, press on the middle of the underside of the tail. If the wound is on the front paw, press on the inside of the leg just above the foot. If the wound is on the rear paw, press the bottom part of the leg, just between the ankle and the foot. Consider applying a tourniquet to the leg only as a last resort when all other methods of stopping flow have failed. A tourniquet will cut of blood supply, and may nescessitate amputation. To apply, tie a strip of gauze around the limb between the wound and the body. Next, tie a pencil or short stick over the knot. Now twist the pencil around in the knot to tighten the tourniquet until the bleeding stops. Tie the pencil in place with another strip of gauze. Loosen the tourniquet every five minutes to see if bleeding has stopped and to allow bloodflow back into the limb."

Use hydrogen peroxide on the wounds -- not alcohol or anything that would burn or hurt.

I think the other serious suggestions are good ones.

You must take the cat to the vet on Monday at the latest for antibiotics to treat any possible infection.

I personally would take the cat to an emergency vet and I do realize that they are very expensive. As long as the cat does not continue to bleed through the bandaging it should be OK.

In cats, most skin wounds do not bleed profusely unless a larger, underlying blood vessel is opened. Avoid manipulating the injured area since this can increase bleeding.

- Cover the wounded area with a sterile bandage or clean cloth and apply
direct pressure.

- Secure with tape if necessary. The bandage should stay in place firmly but
not tightly.

- Take your cat to an emergency veterinarian immediately.

- Do not use a tourniquet (it is not as effective as direct pressure and may
cause additional damage).

Don't know where you're located, but look in the Yellow Pages for an Emergency Vet near you. You don't want to wait until Monday to bring it in. Sometimes the local PetsMart can at least refer you to a vet or other knowledgable person, such as a registered petsitter, who typically is certified to perform some first aid.
