1. Gently place your rabbit on his back in your lap (if he panicks hold him tight in this position so that he does not learn that he can dominate you in this way)

2. Using your thumb and forefinger, spread apart the hair on the area just beneath your rabbits tail.

3. Push down gently in this area, and the vulva of a female or the penis of a male becomes visible.

Mature males have under the tail scrotal sacs with testicles.

It is very difficult to tell the gender of a rabbit unless the testicles have fallen. Sometimes that don't happen until they are almost a year old. Until then, you can turn the bunny on its back, and use two fingers to gently press the thing until it pops out a little. If it is a perfect o it is a boy, if it is a girl it'll look like a slit or even a teardrop.

It's the same as for other animals, just a little more difficult to tell with bunnies, at least when they're very young. When they're older, at least until they've been fixed, it's easy, just look for the testicles at about 3 months of age. You'll find directions for sexing a bunny at www.rabbit.org/chapters/san-diego/health/sex.html.

may be hard to distinguish if the rabbit is still young. Other wise use two fingers apply light pressure in that area to tell if it is a buck or a doe.

It isn't different. Its just that rabbits have fur and it covers it so it makes it harder to see. You should go to a rabbit site and it can give you the specifics.

Go to the vet. They always know and usually will tell you without making you pay.
