Keep brushing the kitties...but there is an air filter device I have seen on TV that picks up hair and such that just happens to be floating around. You gotta vacuum too.

I have 4 kitties (and never mind those people calling you cat lady!) & yes there are a few ways to help keep your home relatively cat hair free.
1. Feed them premium food only--this actually is much better for their skin & coats & wont shed quite as badly. Plus, its nutritionally superior to anything you can find in a grocery store. Try purina pro plan, Royal Canin, Nutro (what I use) or Natural Choice to name a few.
2. Regular brushing helps. Long haired kitties can be shaved (so can short hair). It runs close to about 60$ per cat though. Try a shedding blade if you go the brushing route.
3. Get a few cat beds to lay around the house. If your kitty makes it his favorite spot, he will sleep there the most, leaving the rest of your house a little less furry.
Enjoy your kitties & good luck!

Although my cats are indoor cats, they enjoy wandering in the backyard once every few days. While they're outside, I make sure I give them all a good brushing and enjoy watching the fur fly ... outside the house! Make sure you use a good metal-bristle brush from the pet store. For some reason, the plastic brush I picked up from the drugstore just doesn't pick up any hair.
I agree with the above post ... only feed your cats PREMIUM food. I feed my cats Eukanuba.
Good luck!

The cat foods today come in lots of special formulas and some are even designed to help reduce shedding. It's all about the nutrition. Cat's that shed a lot are lacking in certain vitamins.
Other than that I can only suggest daily brushing and vacumning and cat box cleaning. I have had up to two cats and they can make a mess, but if you keep up with them it's not to bad. And don't listen to that crazy cat lady stuff. They just don't understand.

it helps if they are short haired cats. Get a new vacuum. It is important to brush them at least once a day. The brush will pick up the loose hair and keep it from getting everywhere. I should know, I have 4 cats!

There is a grooming tool that is new to the market called the furminator. You can find it on line, and some grooming shops carry it. It is specially designed to pull out the undercoat of the cat/dog along with the dander. It works great. I should know, I'm a groomer. Once a day with that baby and all will be well. And to all those cat haters that answered your question.....shut up already.

1) air purification unit.
2) weekly maid service
3) get cats that don't shed... siamese or something like them.
4) get rid of the cats.
5) keep the cats in one part of the house only
6) swiffer wet
7) brush the cats... OUTSIDE
8) make the cats stay outside
I am really allergic to cats. I don' t understand why people will keep so many cats. As sick as they make me... why don't people see that cats are sooooooo dirty that some people get deatly ill from the dander. It's the fact that the cats don't get bathed regularly, and lick themselves all the time. The nasty chemical reaction between dead skin and a cat's saliva is what makes me sick. I get asthma, runny nose, puffy eyes, and a really constant chronic itch inside my sinuses. I've been hospitalized for it too. Cats belong outside to catch mice. They are dirty, and belong where the dirt is, and not inside your house. Cats are gross!

i'm with Jan on the FURminator laying off brush. i take advantage of it on my cats and it makes a worldwide of distinction. i think of i individually have been given an entire cat's nicely worth of fur off of one of my long haired cats the different night. i bypass at the back of this with a slicker brush to capture any unfastened hairs that proceed to be. additionally, positioned money right into a very sturdy vacuum and use it always. I definitely have a Dyson Animal vacuum that has super attachments for fixtures. it is designed incredibly to decrease allergens and puppy dander/fur. i did not understand the version between a powerful vacuum and a brilliant one till I have been given it. evaluate switching to leather-based fixtures in case you do not have it already. it is particularly common to easily dirt off, and the fur does not draw on the threshold of it like it does fabric. Drape a blanket over your mattress or aspects the place the cats sleep usually. Use one it is common to pull off and throw in the washing device, and wash it a pair of cases each and every week. If business corporation is coming, you could in basic terms pull the blankets and the comforters, etc. would be hair unfastened. save closet doorways closed, and positioned a lint curler on your automobile. you mustn't %. up very loads of fur on your clothing while you're doing the different issues, yet you ought to use the curler till now stepping into the automobile in case you could desire to. i comprehend all of it feels like a ton of artwork, regardless of if it is definitely enormously speedy and easy as quickly as you determine a habitual with it.
