I disagree with doglebe...I have had Veterinary Pet Insurance or VPI for some time now for my 4.5yr old Vizsla and it has really been a cost savings to me.

My dog has had nose surgery, stitches to repair her chest when she impaled herself on a fallen log in the dog park, been spayed, numerous ear infection issues and her routine shots have all kicked something back to me through the insurance.

The choice is yours, ultimately, but I'm glad I'm covered if something REALLY serious happens to my best friend...:)

Pet insurance covers so little that it's hardly worth getting. It doesn't cover routine visits (annual physical and shots) and it doesn't cover congenital problems (like hip dispasure).
