I have a Lab that has been getting sores on his neck. They have pus and the hair is usually missing and the skin is red. He's had 4 in the past 2 weeks. I felt under the skin and it's bumpy. When they are healing they get hard and have a dark flakey remains. This last one I noticed today is worse than the others. I treat them with peroxide and neosporin. I'd like to know if I should take my concern to the next level.Ideas?

I found him in the bushes, he must have dragged himself there. He doesn't want to move his back legs, he was dragging himself around with his front paws. He got up and dragged himself around a few times and at one point took two steps with his back legs and then collapsed into dragging himself around. I have put him in a box and brought him inside. He seems to be in pain. Don't tell me to take him to the vet, I'll do so ASAP but today is Sunday and they are closed. How can I help him? Is there any way to ease his pain?

I need to know if leaveing it home for a long time could mean going to work or school, or if it means going on vacation or going somewhere for a day trip.

Well, we didn't even know she was pregnant, but my cat is having kittens. Right now. She's had one so far, and both mummy and baby are doing well and are happy and comfortable. But how will we know when she's done? Right now, Mummy-kitten is half asleep and purring, but still breathing heavily. Baby-kitten is nursing. Is she going to have more? She had the baby about an hour ago, so I *think* she's done.

Any tips in caring for Mummy and Baby? (Not to mention Daddy and Auntie-cats?) The father isn't going anywhere NEAR the room where she had them, and the mum's sister is laying in there with her, giving Mummy a bath. They going to be okay? Should I keep everyone seperate from the mother and baby?

I need a fly mask for our horse. I want to get a long one with ears - but are long ones practical? Do they get ruined or ripped really easily?

Madison has a mostly white face. She tears a lot so it has caused brownish-red stains underneath her eyes. I've tried some tear stain removals from the petstore but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have an suggestions?

How might i go about getting training and/or information of how to take care of cats medically. Any book suggestions. This is not an emergency but i would like to learn about veterinary things just in case anything happens or something. i was going to take a course on veterinary assisting but instead took medical assisting to help people(..... and to make that money sing)

My cat is eating grass and throwing it up. what should i do i mean i can't stop him from eating it. What should i do? Also sometimes he throws up foam like things, but rarely. I don't know if it is spit or something else. What do you think I should do. We are taking him to the vets tomorrow just to be sure. Does anyone have thoughts to help me?

lets just say he likes my leg. most of the time its only when my husband is home. he is a great dog. I have not had him very long. I was told that even if I get him fixed that this will not stop, becouse the people who had him didnt stop him from acting this way. Is there something I can do? I love this dog and dont want to be afraid of him.

Hi,
I am very disturbed to discover that two out of my three Labradors (inside dogs) have fleas....a disturbing discovery in any case, but particularly maddening given that I have had them on K-9 Advantix since at least March, and have not gone "overdue" in the dosing schedule. What on earth is going on?? I have two dogs with fleas, I had to go away for a couple of days the day after I made the horrible discovery, but bathed the first dog with Adams Flea & Tick shampoo (I didn't know the other had the fleas, plus I hadn't needed the shampoo in literally years and only had one dog's worth in house). I also re-treated everyone with the K-9 Advantix. It seems inexcusable to me that, approximately $36.00 worth of Advantix later, I come home to fleas, fleas, fleas (plus an added bonus of a dog who now appears to have flea allergy dermatitis!) How can I treat my home (we have birds, kids, & fish)? Do exterminators have any edge? Uggh! Thanks in advance fellow dog lovers!

I havent taken my cat to get booster shots and rabies yet ( he's going to be two and i got the set of shots last year) but now it's time to take him to the vet and i've been a little busy, but mostly had this thing where i had a hard time getting him in his carrier but i've sort of resolved that. When do those shots expire?

I owned a ferret a loooong time ago. I purchased from a 'mom and pop' pet shop who buys from private breeders. (This is why I had no idea about the Marshal Farms controversy). Dakota is long gone now and I recently purchased a ferret from the chain PetSmart. I started asking and researching my new ferrets (Clover) two blue tatooes. This is when I found out about the Marshal Farms Debate.

Have you personally had a bad experience/dislike/like what Marshal Farms is doing/is about?
