the snake was found in west virginia way out in the country , it will not let us close ito it with out comming at us...

Does it have a red and black on it's neck?
The only whitish snake I found...

You probably have an albino milk snake on your hands. I have milk snakes where I live, and have caught an albino, and also caught a gravid female. She laid eggs in my care and of the dozen babies, 4 where albino. It could be a rampant trait in your area, like in mine. The other thing is it might be an amelanistic corn snake. Wild ones have been found, but few become adults. Adult corns will have lots of orange and yellow on top of its red and white.

The only white snake w/red markings I can think of is a milk snake. They're pretty harmless.

need more information:
where are you? different places have different snakes.
It sounds like an albino. I cant think of a white snake off the top of my head.
Look at the snakes head. If it is triangular, and there are pits on the nose, STAY AWAY. IF the head is rounded, it is probably not posionous.

It sounds like an abnormal color phase of the eastern milk snake. I live outside of Pittsburgh & have caught several of these snakes. Very beautiful & totally harmless.

i don't know what kind it is but you can go to a library or type in snakes on the Internet and see what happens.
