I havent taken my cat to get booster shots and rabies yet ( he's going to be two and i got the set of shots last year) but now it's time to take him to the vet and i've been a little busy, but mostly had this thing where i had a hard time getting him in his carrier but i've sort of resolved that. When do those shots expire?

The distemper combo is no big deal, the rabies however will depend on how overdue you are for it, and the laws in your state. The worst they can do is make you get another 1 year rabies vaccine instead of the three year.
Your vet can tell you, or if you go to a vaccine clinic, when they see the rabies certificate, they will know what to do.

cats are normally vaccinated every year but some vets are looking at it differently now .some vets are changing their protocol to every other year and some say that once the cat is an adult they don't need to be vaccinated again. rabies is required by the state, so depending on which state you live in you need to follow their laws. I vaccinate my cats every year and do the rabies every 3 years.

Most vaccines are yearly and you can check your vet records to find out. Otherwise consult your vet for the correct answer, and make time to get him to the vets.
The vet doesn't care if you are behind on the vaccines, they just care that you get them done. (And ask them to send you a reminder postcard for the vaccines.)
