He is a yellow lab and about 1 year old
.We got him 2 months ago because my friend moved to China and was unable to take the dog with her. My friend said he never had a problem with hugging at her house. He loves it when you hug him just not another person. Other than the hugging problem he has adjusted very well to his new home with my family.

Yes my dog does that when my husband & me hug. He jumps on us & barks up a storm.
He is "daddys dog" I know it is a jealousy & attention thing.
What works for us is to tell him, down & if he don't listen we Ignore him & it usually does work!
On occasions neither one works & in that case we send him to "his house" (dog crate) for a time out. When we let him out he realizes that I was in trouble & comes to get attention the right way. By not jumping & raising hell.
I know it may Sound mean but it works. If he does listen or gets the hint.. be sure to give him praise & a treat. He will figure out that if I listen or behave I get TREATS :)
Hope that helps

Yes mine does that! I have a 4 dogs, but the Pomeranian is the most interesting one who does all the crazy stuff. He simply doesn't like anyone in our family hugging each other. Whenever we hug, he would jump on us, and make funny sounds. If we ignore him, he would bark till he gets attention!

I think hes jealous, he wants to be the baby in the house. Silly doggie! :)

My son's dog is part pug, part cocker spaniel. Whenever my son even acts like he is going to touch me, the dog goes ballistic. He barks, growls, and if I am touched, he will bite. Not just with my son, but usually it is him. He just says, 'good boy!', because he's protecting 'mama'.

oh, neither my son nor anyone around me is or has ever been violent towards me, but, I'm not afraid to be alone, either.

I used to have a dog that would do that, he was a Rat Terrier and very over protective. You have to watch little dogs like that, they can turn mean, sometimes if you get them fixed they settle down.

hes showing signs of being jealous. he wants to be the only one in your attention. you can break him of this habit by yelling NO at him loudly, sharply, and promptly, and after a couple weeks he should get the idea loud and clear.
