My idea of the best thing would be if someone invented an engine which is more powerful and efficient than any internal combustion engine. It would eliminate our need for foreign oil if we had a practical and marketable engine which ran on something different. But what do you think would be a great accomplishment for the US?

If you recall, the reason given for the US invading Iraq was because the US thought Iraq was hiding weapons of mass destruction. I don't agree with going into Iraq and I feel like we were deceived about the 'weapons of mass destruction' that never surfaced BUT I DO KNOW THAT GOING INTO IRAQ WAS NOT RETALIATION FOR BIN LADIN'S ATTACK ON THE US ON 9/11.

So why do so many people think 9/11 and the invasion into Iraq are related?

Religion is a poor substitute for common sense, since it opens up a bigger question than it answers. If you are going to argue that God always was, you might as well argue that people always were. Neither argument makes any sense, does it?

I live in Michigan but a big one hit in Napanee, IN which is about 75 miles from me. There were several other smaller ones but that one did the most damage. I was just wondering 'cause watching the news this morning, it looks like they hit a lot of the Eastern part of the States. Hopefully, no one got hurt. I hate the damage and destruction that tornadoes cause but they sure are fascinating. One hit my front yard as a small child and uprooted several trees that were huge (atleast 4 stories high!). We made it into our basement and amazingly, it just missed our house and made a path through our yard. We were also lucky that none of the trees fell on the houses! I knew we were going to have bad weather because it was unnaturally warm (70's and 80's) and humid in Michigan which usually is a sign of bad weather in Northern climates. Anyone know why this is and can explain in simple layman terms?

In the McCann feeding frenzy how many times does it take for a lie to be repeated for it to be believed?
No matter that almost no facts are known, a few people repeatedly condemn the McCanns as if the evidence of murder is indisputable. They imply it's only a matter of time before others who admit they don't know are shown the error of their ways.
Some seem utterly convinced of their innocence, and are then abused for condoning child neglect. Others seem to be of the opinion that whether they are involved or not, they deserve locking up anyway.

Only a few weeks ago, I leaned firmly towards the conviction that her parents had nothing to do with Madeleine's disappearance.
I still haven't seen solid evidence to the contrary, but the constant drip-feed of hostility and malice masquerading as fact sometimes makes it difficult to keep an open mind. Doubts creep in.
If you feel the same, please read this.

I have a SEVERE problem with the fact that Baby Jessica is now going to be a millionaire because of the fact that her parents didn't watch her and she fell in a well. That money was supposed to go to getting her OUT of the well. If there is excess (which there was PLENTY), it should go to a charity that helps other children.....NOT make someone rich. Any thoughts?

Regarding my previous posting requesting details of the so called protest against the use of Hylton Lodge as a youth hostel run by the YMCA. If these details are true and factual why is this main document (not the one from Alan Robinson of Surbiton who has no right to poke his nose in anyway) unsigned and why are there no return addressess etc? I will tell you why it is because of the fact that the allegations are unfounded.
Check this link and see what exactly the YMCA have proposed, help them to provide a brighter future for the young men and women who could be your sons your daughters. These people he so malignes could become real valuable assets to society are you really going to be led astray by these lying blighters who think they have the right to begrudge help to those in housing need? If you are from Hersham Vullage are you going pass by on the other side or stand uup for truth and decency towards all people? It is up to you
will you be found wanting? I hope not.

They interviewed him last night and he really does sound and look innocent. However, how the heck do your feet go into the next stall and how come he did all the signs for solicitation? He said it was a coinicidence but I don't know. What do you think? His wife believes him but then again, she could be in denial or just helping him not destroy his career and make them look bad.

I heard that people are dying at an alarming rate from MRSA which is the penicillin resistant strain of staph. I'm worried 'cause it's in my blood system. I got it from an open wound and I have frequent skin infections that require antibiotics that don't really get rid of the MRSA. If you heard anything, what'd they say? I know it's very common in hospitals and very dangerous to those with weakened immune systems and the very young and old. What about otherwise healthy people?
