I have a SEVERE problem with the fact that Baby Jessica is now going to be a millionaire because of the fact that her parents didn't watch her and she fell in a well. That money was supposed to go to getting her OUT of the well. If there is excess (which there was PLENTY), it should go to a charity that helps other children.....NOT make someone rich. Any thoughts?

Ok guys, Yahoo answers is ABOUT OPINIONS......HELLO. You certainly won't change my opinion by not giving me ANY facts and backing up your opinion with ANY concrete ideas. There are PLENTY of suffering children out there that could use that money. I think she should re-donate it.

I'd like to know why the money was raised in the first place. I mean you rescue her, thats its. If it was to pay for subsequent operations then fair enough but thats where it stops. But people are stupid like this. The British public only need to look at how they were fooled by the McScams .......

There is a lesson in this, dont donate on the back of one single case. Only give money to a cause that benefits the wider community.

I understand what your saying. But the money was donated by just plain people for Jessica. It's not money from any state or local government. I didn't give any money to that fund and I don't care what they do with it. There's nothing wrong with feeling sorry for people who have difficulty in their life. And if it's not your money don't worry about it.

Well, I think it's an excellent question and you have some valid points. I think they put that money into a fund so her parents wouldn't get rich from being careless with the well. I agree with you. She doesn't deserve a million dollars for something like this. She was young enough that it didn't cause her traumatic memories growing up. The money should have gone into a fund for her to go to college because she did come from a family that didn't go to college most likely because of money. The rest of the money should have gone to charity like you said. I'm sorry people were so rude to you. You and everyone else are entitled to their own opinions.

At the time of her fall people pledged that money for her welfare. Much may have been used to deal with the trauma from that incident. Her parents investment (or whatever) of the remainder of the funds is her business and theirs. It is most certainly not the medias to exploit or yours to engage in mud slinging.
Sometimes having an opinion can be kept to a personal thought.

It was supposed to cover her hospital bills. I guess they put the rest in a trust fund. At least the parents didn't blow the money.
