i am in a mess at the moment and am considering leaving my boyfriend to go to australia for a new life. has anyone ever started their life again abroad?

My friend was telling me how the world is being completely screwed up by men (she's right on that part) and challenged me to name one women who caused some sort of major disastor. Her question intrigued me so I decided to see how many I could find. I've only got a couple so far:
Helen of Troy-the Trojan War
Hurricane Katrina(that one's a stretch)-New Orleans Disaster
Typhoid Mary-Typhoid epidemic in New York
Mrs. O'Leary-Chicago Fire (it's possible it was her cow though)
Any ideas people?

Are all people of that faith your brother or sister?
If so -if those persons claiming to be of your faith were murderers or rapists,etc ---would they still be of your faith or your brother/sister?
How does it work--if someone commits an evil act--do you disassociate them from your religion-or embrace them and forgive?

Hopefully it's all sorted now but I just wanted to check whether anyone agreed with the postal workers going on strike?

I only know what I've heard on the news and I may be wrong but it seems that they want more pay, a better pension scheme and flexible work conditions so they still get paid if they go home early. Well it seems ridiculous that they should get paid for not doing anything... not many other jobs offer this!

I don't know how much they get paid but it's not like they're doing brain surgery. I just think strikes are very immature. It's not like nurses and doctors can go on strike because if they did, people would die. They deserve more pay and better conditions more than anyone... it just seems stupid that postal workers should have more power than people as important as doctors and nurses.

I have no sympathey for them... it's not like they're particularly skilled or have had to pay thousands in university fees to do what they do.

Robert Murat in Portugal? He was made a "suspect" 5 mths ago,just because him and his Mother tried to help,and got themselves "noticed" He has done nothing at all.Compare this to the Mccanns,who if nothing else neglected their children,even if only for the 1 night. They have received massive support. Suppose Murat had been lucky enough to have been Irish or black or something.Can you see all the trendy laywers and pop groups rushing to help.with demonstrations,music concerts,and the like.They would have been dubbed the "Portugal two" as it is he is boringly white and Christian no-one cares.Do you care?why not E mail the British Consul in Lisbon,as I am about to do.or write demanding he gets Her Majestys protection,as every Briton is entitled to. He is now pennyless,and in quite a bad way.Can you help?

i was just wondering what could possibly determine the degree of the risk of a terrorist attack. i know that there are different degrees, like elevated and high. and that certain colors go with these degrees (orange, red, etc) but arent these attacks completely unpredictable? like 911?

According to the NASA website, the hottest year in the past 130 years was 1934, not a year recently. . and 3 of the 5 hottest years since the 1880's were in the 1930's. . so why, if it's our driving and flying and using electricity that is supposedly causing "global warming" (what a hoax), have we not raised the temperature (with all our driving (millions more cars, trucks, planes, boats, buses, etc. . and millions more people using electricity than there were in 1934). . why can't we get it warmer now than in 1934?? In 73 years we haven't been able (even with all this "carbon-belching") to raise the temps high enough to beat 1934??. . Hmm. . could it be that carbon dioxide emissions have nothing to DO with any warming (real or made up)???

I paid a bill balance in june of 07. It was only $70.00 dollars. Anyway, til this day they have not cleared that balance. I have even paid off a higher balance after that. I faxed all the paperwork and proof the check cleared. They still have not cleared it and still are asking the same exact questions of when it was paid. They've told me they received my fax copy of the cleared check and say it has to be investigated again. What is wrong with these people at Dell? And, they don't even operate in the U.S. People are dying for jobs here in the U.S. and their giving them to other countries. Anyway, I want it known that I would never recommend Dell Financial and that people should know that there customer service is really bad.

i just heard the boy's mother actually bought a rifle for the 14 year old who shot 4 students and 2 teachers in a PA high school. unbelievable !!!

I've never been in, but I walk past it every now and then, it's on a main road. During the day the windows are covered, but I saw it once at night and it was really lit up.

What an awful situation this is. I can't imagine what I'd do. When my children were 10 months old, there's no way I could have given them up, it would have broken my heart. However, i know that I'd also want my biological child back. Impossible situation.
I'm also a stepmother, with two step kids living just down the road. We see them every other day after school until the evening, and they stay with us every other weekend. This works well, they have two sets of loving parents, and are well adjusted kids. Could this sort of routine be the answer?
What would you do?
